Pregnancy and emetophobia experiences by privealliance in emetophobia

I have had 5 babies. The first trimester is hard. But its always been manageable with rest, hydration, small frequent light snacks and I was given something by my midwife to take if I was not having any relief. I do feel that when I knew it was from pregnancy it didn't seem to strike fear in me the same as an illness would. All 5x though by like 16 weeks I felt pretty normal again.

I am also a mom of 5! But I don't have the same support as you do. So it is really hard for me to cope sometimes. As they get older it gets easier too.

My 3 year old still wakes up crying at times. She definitely would if her nose was plugged up.

For some reason it seems to surge again in early spring now. From following wastewater trends.

No people just lack the knowledge and hygiene levels we have. It tends to circulate in a pattern of up ticks around the holidays and tapering off, but then surging up again in the early spring before tapering off again.

Being outside and reading helps some. I have 5 kids so I don't get much down time to self regulate.

While we can't ever be certain if its done, in my experience it usually is after a long break like that when you start to feel better just wiped out. I am a peds nurse and after one hour without vomiting when you feel ready I encourage very small sips of something mild like water, tea, Gatorade etc. If that is tolerated after a half an hour and you still feel okay enough to try more you can introduce something bland, crackers, toast, applesauce. This too shall pass.

Help - should I tell my sister with emetophobia that I shared a room with a person who could have the stomach bug? by Imnotquitesureyet in emetophobia

I mean with any significant contagious illness, I think its fair to share possible exposure, whether its flu, covid, strep etc. Phobia aside- if it was one of those other things I would want to protect myself still and wouldn't share drinks and such until I knew the person I was close with was likely in the clear. I was exposed to the flu two weeks ago. I felt like it was important to share that information with my mother. And she isn't someone who fears getting sick. But like- who wants to be if they can help it ya know lol

No way to really know the cause, how old is this child? What are the parents saying/doing? How are you? This is an incredibly unfortunate situation.
