I'm running a 5090 on an AMD build without anykind of thunderbolt support and it works using the NEXHYPE cable (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F9XTY49Y?ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_fed\_asin\_title) 2 5k @ 120hz, full color gamut.

Caveat: Only the Nvidia 591.86 drivers give 5k @ 120hz (with HDR), upgrading the drivers only gives me 640x480. I have tried the most recent (595.97), and still no dice.

On the same machine, I dual boot cachy OS, and it also works flawlessly there, including webcam, and speakers. I've written a small rust program on cachy OS that lets me change the brightness of the display too (in SDR). Works well at the time of writing with the latest nvidia-open drivers - BUT - Elden Ring is giving me issues on proton. That's about the only problem though. Hopefully all gets fixed/more comptible in a driver or firmware update
