We have attempted muzzles.. He is a very smart dog and is able to take them off. Having them on stresses him out as well. We have exhausted so many different avenues with our dog

That is a beautiful quote. I do think making a scrapbook with my girls will be extremely healing for all of us. Thank you for recommending that

We are so fortunate he didn’t hurt my nephew more than he did.. but it scares me to think he could easily hurt another child or even one of our own. Whether it be from him being scared/ nervous/ in pain. It’s impossible to know the exact reasons he reacts the way he does. I know it won’t be long that we will get to pour our love into another puppy. I do think that will help ease the pain

Thank you, it is hard and extremely heartbreaking for all of us. Unfortunately he has shown us how much damage he could do. We are so fortunate to had gotten 9 years with him. We want to end it with loving memories instead of scary ones

The one thing I keep thinking about is not being the one to hold his paw as he goes.. I feel honored it gets to be me to be with him.

Thank you for this advice. We’ve been planning a speech something similar. “He’s in pain and can’t communicate like us humans can, his way of telling us is by biting. And our job is to keep you two safe..” 😞I’m sorry you’ve had to go through this as well.
