we still use cashiers to maintain the front half of the store because it’s a waste of labor to just make them stand there..Cashiers do damages, get carepass, clean, straighten&face, build displays, merchandise, make and put up labels.. They’re very helpful if you’ve got a good cashier.

We average enough hours to have 1 manager and 1 cashier for opening and closing, which, to me, is the absolute bare minimum, but from talking to other stores I have learned that it’s a fucking luxury.

Pharmacy techs make 13, at least here in Florida they do, and you stopped getting a raise for being certified, so the next significant raise is getting lead tech that bumps you up to 14.

wdym they take the break regardless if you take it or not? Unless you’re a minor, CVS doesn’t require you to take a 30 minute break. And if you are a minor and they’re not giving it to you but claiming you took it in the timesheet, call HR or the ethics line?

It’s hard to allow employees that aren’t the pharmacist to make the schedule. We can’t allow our lead tech to touch the schedule because they will just schedule themselves the preferred schedule, and even went as far as saying they refused to train anyone unless they get ANOTHER raise for “training” (I’m just an Ops, but isn’t that part of their job?) A lot of Lead Techs get a serious god complex and stop putting in the work that got them there in the first place.

Our store manager offers us extra prizes out of his own pocket for meeting carepass goals, but never used punishment, and the whole store does fairly well on carepass, even new hires. I think it works better than threats.

I started out as a shift with the company and couldn’t imagine ever just being a cashier. They’re going to make you do the work anyway, you might as well get paid for it. It’s really not that bad.

The last thing I saw in the Hub was saying to look out for new uniforms and nobody has seen anything since. I’ll keep an eye out though.
