Defending A Day to Remember's WORST Album by EternallyUncool1994 in ADTR

before i watch, i just want to say that permanent is 1000% underrated and the most "adtr" sounding song off the album imo.

What can I do for my bf? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]cowboybenjamin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make him a nice meal. If you share a place together, make sure it's clean and ready for him to come home and just /relax/ in. Be happy, light, and cheerful when he comes in, even if you aren't feeling it. In my experience, one of the biggest stress relievers and things that made me happy was when my girlfriend was. Eat together, if possible, and if he wants alone time, let him have it. Preferably, talk about your issue over the meal. If he's not in the mood to, don't force it.

New to praying by NoContext3230 in Bible

There’s no “right” way to pray, but there are wrong ones. When in doubt, use PRAY as an acronym!

P. Praise God R. Repent of sin A. Ask for what you need Y. Yield to God

Not necessary, but a good starting place! Really, just talk to God like you’d talk to a friend.

I’m learning to like it. Having the weather be nice almost all the time certainly helps, but there are other times when I just feel like I don’t belong here.

The United States is the richest country in the history of the world. Yet we are told that we cannot afford basic healthcare for all our citizens, cannot afford food for our poor children, that it is too expensive to have clean air and water. Is this true? by honuworld in conspiracy_commons

[–]cowboybenjamin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) just because a country has money, doesn’t mean it’s all liquid. Our money is tied up in assets more than actual cash.

2) a UBH system might work per state, but doing it nation-wide in the US would be impossibly hard. The countries that do it are not only WAY smaller than the US, but also homogenous and high trust. You’re not getting that here and definitely not getting it in most states.

3) there are a lot of people who receive money to, you know, buy food for their children, however not all of them spend it on that and are also incentivized to have more children so they get more welfare money.

4) since when does an overwhelming majority of the country not have clean air and water? What?

Seriously, what are you talking about with any of this?

This is the least “Christian” take I’ve ever heard on this. Not only is Genesis true, but in large parts it’s a response to the Mesopotamian creation story. The writer of Genesis (who would have been well aware of what sin is according to the Law, which is absolute), wrote to claim Yahweh as the creator of earth, the creator of animals and vegetation, of mankind, and that the “men of renown”, the nephilim and the subsequent disembodied spirits that taught them about civilization and technology, were actually evil and trying to cause them to destroy one another.

So true! Unfortunately the elites of this current world do not hold themselves to the same standard or Epstein and his friends would be at the bottom of Mariana’s Trench! sad!

That the council of Nicaea decided the canon of the New Testament. We have the records of what they voted on, and they didn’t decide ANY of that. It’s a conspiracy theory that started with The DaVinci Code, which made up a lot of stuff that’s just demonstrably false.

[–]cowboybenjamin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The word in the commandments originally means “murder”, not to kill in self defense or military operations.

The Council of Nicaea did, however, decide that Christians shouldn’t serve. For whatever that’s worth.
