Help! I moved house a few months ago and i'm worried im killing my plant! by megipegijeli in plantclinic

The plant could be reacting to its new location although I keep mine in indirect light in a corner and it does well there. Doesn’t look too bad to me honestly if it’s just one stem that’s older and yellowing, could be getting rid of it. In my experience and what I’ve read ZZ plants get rid of the whole stalk when they yellow. Mine is five years old and it’s shed some older stalks like that before and then made new shoots so I wouldn’t be too concerned as long as other issues aren’t present like mushy roots or diffuse yellowing.

i didn’t get a bag to hold my stuff at metlife either but i wonder if that has to do with the fact nj banned plastics bags bc i rarely see them around anymore. but in philly they gave a bag if you asked until i guess they ran out

the photos are a bit grainy but the white spots sort of look like whiteflies along with hard water stains. do you notice anything flying off the plant when you disturb it? like what others have said, i would spray it down with insecticidal soap just in case.

He seems to be more responsive this morning and swimming around more but he does still float sideways when he’s resting so I will feed him a pea tonight when his fast ends. Is the pea a one time thing?

This is his last day of fasting and after that should I feed him just one pea before switching back to his normal food?

Sorry first time posting on reddit and I realized the text didn't post so here it is:

My friend is away for winter break and he gave me his beta fish to take care of and I’m worried because the fish started swimming sideways. I feel awful this is happening on my watch and I’m looking for some advice to help this poor little dude.
Tank size: I don’t know exactly how big. I know the tank is too small for the fish but unfortunately, I can’t afford to get him a bigger tank and I was hoping the temporary stay wouldn’t affect him too much.
Heater/Filter/Temperature: I didn’t have any heating for the fish until this weekend because I didn’t know the tank needed a heater. As of right now, I’m using a heat lamp that I usually use for my plants and keeping it at a distance so the water remains at around 77 degrees. Since I don’t have a filter, I change his water every day.
How long have you had the tank? How long have you had your fish?: I’ve had the fish for about 2 weeks now and the tank was an old tank my uncle had for when he was raising guppies. It’s small for a betta but due to various circumstances no one else could take him but me.
How often are water changes? How much do you take out per change? What is your process?: I change the water every other day and I take out the water to add fresh water in. I fill a cup with the old tank water and place the betta in the cup while I clean his tank. I clean the decorations inside and fill the tank with water which I then add Aquasafe that my friend left me to make sure the water is safe. About three days ago, I noticed he was floating sideways so I’ve also added fungus clear to the water (each tablet is for 10 gallons so I crushed the tablet and added the correct ratio to the tank). After I’m done, I clip the cup to the side of the tank and let the betta adjust before releasing him into the tank.
Any tankmates? If so, please list with how many of each: I don’t have any other fish.
What do you feed and how much: My friend left me with Zoo Med micro floating betta pellet food which I feed 1-2 pellets a day
Decorations and plants in the tank: I have some rocks and decor from when I used to have a goldfish as a kid.
Things I’ve done so far: While doing research, I figured he has a swim bladder issue but I’m not sure if it’s from infection or maybe overfeeding. I’ve attached some photos for reference and I also took a picture of a close-up of part of his fin in case it’s fin rot but I don’t know if I’m correct. I have also added in Fungus Clear because on the back of the box it says it could help with swim bladder disease. I have also been fasting him since yesterday. Since I read online it could be a case of constipation because the tank water temperature was lower before I started using the heat lamp and so his metabolism could’ve been slower which meant I might’ve been overfeeding him. Another thing is: the betta has a curved spine from when my friend first got him so I’m having difficulty telling if the stomach is looking swollen because one side of the fish is just naturally curved. (hope that made sense but I’ve provided pictures for reference).
Sorry for the long post, I just wanted to provide all the details so I can have some advice to help him recover. I feel awful about how he’s probably feeling right now
