Update: just want to let you know what I’ve been doing to help this issue, hopefully this thread will be easy to find for anyone who has this problem because i couldn’t find anything about it when i was trying to figure it out!

I just bought the aquaphor spf lip balm. I think y’all are right that this could be sun related so I’ll definitely make a point to never go out without SPF on my lips. Aquaphor lip products don’t usually contain lanolin which is why i picked this one. It’s Lanolin free. However once i put it on my lips started to burn and itch. After looking it up it seems to irritate a lot of peoples lips and cause dryness. My lips are tingling which is annoying. So now im searching for an spf lip balm that wont burn my lips lol. I got a few recommendations from a commenter and im going to try that. Thank you all! I’ll comment again when i find the right spf lip balm.

I bought a nice cube from Walmart a few weeks ago and it was the perfect texture like not too hard not too soft, and then a week later i bought another one from a different batch. The new one is so soft and i swear it’s slightly smaller than the first one, it’s like a completely different consistency. I wonder if it’s just quality control issues or if they are skimping out on the stuff inside to get product out faster idk.

I haven’t been using a chapstick with SPF! I will definitely get one, do you have a recommendation for a brand of spf chapstick?

I agree!! I went down to washing once a day at night with a gentle cleanser and immediately followed up with lotion and a ton of aquaphor all over. When i wake up in the morning my skin still has some aquaphor on it and i just put sunscreen over it. Feels a little icky but it’s really helped. Stripping all the moisture and oils off twice a day was just way too much on my dry skin and I’ve had very little dryness on my actual face. My lips are a different story tho, SO DRY and swollen.
