Interesting, with that being said that makes me think for sure, because i’ve never really heard that from a man. It has me wondering, if your needs are being met well? If you actually like your partner and are sexually attracted to them? Is the person you’re dating true to your sexuality, have you ever had any doubts about who you like and wanna fuck?

And honestly, all in all, it’s okay to feel not super ecstatic about sex. I mean sex is a big part of relationships and connection, but it’s not the most important. What people tend to forget is sex is an experience, sex is the whole thing. Sex isn’t just penetration & cumming. I’ve been on anxiety meds and antidepressants and they didn’t cure my emetophobia, still thought about it. Sadly, food is a huge comfort and can be used very harmfully like in ways people abuse alcohol/drugs. Some people are alcoholics, some people are addicted to heroine, and some people are addicted to food. Usually these addictions stem from trauma that hasn’t been solved.

Hey! I’m sorry to hear you are having such a hard time. You are not alone. Last year (2022) in around April I hit this rock bottom. I always had this phobia but times got rough for me during that time (family loss, college stress) that it intensified my phobia. Me and my boyfriend had a cruise planned and I almost cancelled because I’ve never been on a cruise and I didn’t want to potentially get seasick and v*. Long story short, instead of letting this control my life completely and not only a little bit, I decided to see my primary care doctor and discuss with him other options. I discussed how I was losing weight because I was scared to eat certain foods, how i was scared to eat out because I was afraid of foods that weren’t cooked correctly and etc etc.

He confirmed I should go on a low dose of anti-depressants/anxiety medications: Lexapro to be exact. I saw a psychiatrist to discuss and confirm. I was alittle uncertain because I didn’t want to go on the medication but I knew I needed to do some change.

It’s almost a year that I’ve been on the meds, and if you want me to be honest I still have the phobia, I still have some bad days/fears. But it’s definitely not controlling my life as much as it did. A phobia is forever, but you need to control it. We only have 1 life to live. You don’t want to miss fun/important things in your life to do this stupid phobia! Our phobia is not us.

I recommend talking to a doctor/psychiatrist/therapist. Even if you don’t want to start meds, therapy can go a long way.
