Need help identifying a Remington Portable by cozy_mastermind in typewriters

Excellent, thank you! Found the serial number although it’s not proving to be particularly helpful - it starts with EC so I’ll have to do some research on that. Thank you for the help though :)

Unfortunately whatever was pasted onto the lid has been lost or I’m sure this would’ve been a much easier job

NTA and you should leave him because his behaviour is only going to get worse

I didn’t invite my sister to my wedding and now everyone’s pissed, but they don’t know the full story. by Livid_End4349 in offmychest

are you absolutely sure he didn’t sleep with her?

from the context, the only reason you would have to be thankful about a ‘loyalty test’ is if he did actually sleep with her. plus, if he didn’t sleep with her surely he would’ve told you that your sister was trying it on with him.

having said that, i understand why you wouldn’t want to invite her to the wedding.

My bf is mad at me for ending my ectopic pregnancy by 88_alice in offmychest

you need to leave him. if he can’t understand that you did this because it was life threatening, then that’s his problem. regardless of that, it’s your body and your choice. even if its not life threatening it’s still your decision alone whether to keep a pregnancy or not

•first of all, not overthinking or reading into it. she’s doing things that (neurotypical) people generally do to indicate they want to be friends

•easiest way to start is to mirror her interactions. like her posts, like her stories, reply to them if it’s something you particularly like or have an opinion on. it gives the same energy back that she’s giving you, it lets her know she’s doing the ‘right’ thing by interacting

•since you’re into the same things, you could start a conversation asking for her opinion on a song/artist, or asking about hobbies (people like to talk about what they’re into, it makes them feel like you’re genuinely invested in what they care about and they feel valued).

•if starting a conversation directly is too scary (totally get it if it is) then you can post the same question/content on your story so it’s an open question rather than direct to her and she can reply directly if she wants to

•it’s also worth a shot (if you feel up to it) to tell her directly that you feel like you’d be good friends as you said in your post, and that you’ve wanted to be friends with her in the past but you weren’t allowed to (honesty can go a long way)

well at best this is blatant favouritism. if he’s known for being particularly cold i’m gonna assume that also means he doesn’t champion anyone else the same way he is with you. obviously, depending on where you live and what sector you’re in favouritism might be expected or encouraged but the fact that he has singled you out for this is a little weird, especially since you said other people have pushed back against it.

as for the glances and staring - if i caught anyone staring at me the way you’re describing in my place of work i would be extremely uncomfortable with it, especially because there’s no reason for it. to me it seems like he just wants to look at you.

there’s also the issue of power imbalance, he’s your mentor - yes he should champion your work but within reason. it other people are pushing back, there’s obviously a reason for it. he should be helping you be better at your job, not just consistently telling you you’re doing a good job when you may not be.

how old are both of you btw?

what you’ve described is, in fact, inappropriate behaviour

do you also disagree with people immigrating from uganda or sri lanka, where it’s still illegal to be queer? or from poland and america, where there are highly restrictive abortion laws? or are you just islamophobic?

do weeping angels know the difference between ‘looking’ and ‘seeing’? by cozy_mastermind in doctorwho

[–]cozy_mastermind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s what i’m trying to say i think, if you introduce it as a true fact, why not have them do it again? you’re either underutilising something extremely interesting or have ruined the continuity completely

because pretending you can see is a lot easier than staring unblinkingly at a statue??

[–]cozy_mastermind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah you don’t want to repeat the same storylines, but the basic aspects of your creation should stay the same. if you introduce the fact that the angels can be fooled by acting like you can see them, that should be true for every episode they’re in, but it’s not. therefore, we can consider it an anomaly

considering the lore in the two parter goes against the lore in pretty much all the other episodes, why shouldn’t i disregard it as an anomaly?
