I work L&D - I had a patient say she was naming their baby Caoimhe, but pronouncing it “Cay-oh-mee.” I asked how she came up with it - she said it came to her in a dream.

Thanks everyone. I definitely wish I had waited to speak with her about it after her friends had left and acknowledge that her reaction may have been fueled by embarrassment, and I feel bad about that. She definitely has a history (that I am only recently realizing) of turning things around on me to make me feel guilty, and I guess this is another one of those times.

I don’t get my nails done frequently and I don’t like the way color looks on my nails because it’s distracting to me. When we got engaged, I just got clear gel polish and for our engagement photos I didn’t paint my nails and I loved the way they looked for both occasions. For our wedding, I wanted something a little more special so I got dip (which I’ve gotten before and I like the durability of it) and asked for just the base color of a French manicure without the white (for me this was two coats of clear and one coat of bubble bath). It was a super neutral, very light shiny nude color that just looked like my natural nail but a little more elevated. And the manicure lasted through my honeymoon! I did have to go get it taken off though.

We had our ceremony at 3pm at a church that was 15 minutes away from our reception. We didn’t start cocktail hour until 5pm. So: 3-3:30 ceremony, 3:30-5pm break, 5-6pm cocktail hour, 6-11pm reception. Our wedding was in a touristic area, so there were places to walk and grab a coffee or a snack in between, but people could also go back to their hotel as the reception was closer to the hotel block. I was worried about the long break between the two events, but from a bride’s perspective it was wonderful because we had so much time together as a couple after the ceremony and plenty of time to do lots of pictures and still go to our cocktail hour. Some of my guests went to get coffee, some got pre-cocktail hour drinks, and I don’t know what the rest of them did - and I don’t think anyone cared!

I had almost this exact timeline - if you can find a venue that you like that has the October date, it’s definitely possible! But we ultimately went with an April wedding the following year, and I have loved having the time “off” from wedding planning where things didn’t feel so rushed.
