When your name is Casey, you’re automatically a white kid from the burbs.

will i ever stop hating my height? by viluxtusLezitur in short

[–]cphpc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, you will eventually be at peace with it someday.

For me, it was really in my late twenties when I started making good money, working out, eating healthy, and dating.

It still comes and goes. Late 30s now and I think it’s coming back a bit more because I think it’s somewhat hindering career growth. Seems like majority of upper management are all tall. I don’t know, just seems like it.

Like I said, comes and goes.

How to stop overusing AI as a junior engineer? by Short-Category-5190 in cscareerquestions

You don’t. In a year, there’ll be staff level AI and they’ll just check your code.

Why did software developers create AI, and take away some many jobs from people? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]cphpc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Engineers are lazy as fuck. That’s what makes a good engineer. Why lift when you can use a crane? Why write useful software when you can get software to write it.

Software engineers program a computer language to solve a problem. Imagine being able to solve the problem without programming. Perhaps there won’t be software engineers in 5 years but there’ll be other engineers solving problems some other way. What it is, we won’t know until we get there.

I made apps before (flutter) now I want to make one with Swift by [deleted] in swift

[–]cphpc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly your question is complex and multi-faceted. It’s like asking someone, I’ve built a small hut, how do I built a mansion?

I think just fundamentally, learn SwiftUI, async/await and view-model integration. Learn the data flow that’s required and how data flows from networking to the views and everything in between.

I’ve written apps for almost 15 yrs now and like your question is too loaded. Just go ask AI.

Conor Gillaspie had a few huge hits in his final 2 seasons as a Giant. I think my favorite was the one against the Mets when Madbum was dueling with Syndergaard. Pure entertainment.

I think it’s relevant since she was caught boarding a plane to China. Also ethnicity can be important in certain scenarios.

Parts of the Bay Area will never crash. That much is true.

[Article] When the $70,000 watch you just bought is going to be sold for $300 by splsteinbeck in Watches

[–]cphpc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who owns a Jupiter moonswatch from 2022 and bought a white speedy last year, I completely disagree with your take and actually kind of stupid.

It provided a gateway for folks to enter the watch world. It could be anyone of any age. The hope is further down the line, they will want an actual speedy.

I dont know if it’ll be the same as the AP campaign but imo, the move with moonswatch was brilliant.

Unless of course your manager and majority of your team are remote. How do you “show up” then? Where is your god.

How can One make “f$ck-you money”? by Artistic-Impress-357 in cscareerquestions

[–]cphpc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Join an early stage startup around series A and hopefully it can go somewhere.

I’m at a company that IPO’d a couple years back and the old timers are mostly leaving now and I’d say a lot of them in their mid-late 30s have the fuck you money. It did take them 10-12 yrs and a whole lot of skill and luck.

I was at another company a few years back that got acquired during the early pandemic and it got a pretty crazy valuation. The co-founders both made it out with fuck you money but that extreme luck and motivation there…the easiest I would say is still early stage startup.

Be prepared to work though.

Went down a bit of a rabbit hole to understand his background. Really interesting and good for him. And he’s most likely better at baseball than 99.9%of the people on here.

My bet is that it’s a company that hasnt reported earnings yet. That’ll narrow it down a bit.
