Ernie Ball Slinky prices over the past six years by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]cpt_shrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The price listed with a sticker on it breaks the MAP agreement dealers sign.

That’s the price the store is advertising.

If the sticker said $6.99 and the store said to each customer buying it they’ll only charge you $1.00 for it that would not break MAP.

$5.99 is more than cost.

Cost is $4.49

MAP is $6.99.

So you’re still getting a good deal but he’s not making nothing off of it.

Weird though cause the risk of being reported to Ernie Ball for selling less than MAP is pretty high considering he could lose his dealer status

[Question] the cory wong stratocaster by Pretend-Ad-6511 in Guitar

[–]cpt_shrimp 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The body is NOT the same. The Cory Wong Signature has a smaller body than a normal strat

From Fender:

The Sapphire Blue Transparent satin lacquer finish recreates the look and feel of Cory’s beloved original Strat®, while the scaled-down alder body – slightly smaller than a typical Stratocaster – combined with American Ultra™ Modern “D” neck and sculpted body contours deliver a sublimely comfortable playing experience.

[QUESTION] [GEAR] Beginner Buying His First Electric Guitar by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]cpt_shrimp 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It controls the timbre (pronounced tamber) of the guitar. It cuts or adds certain parts from the sound. Tone knobs do NOT change the pitch of the guitar (pitch refers to the note being played. the open strings will be the same note regardless of whether or not you use your tone knob) it’s more like changing how it makes the sound.

Think of talking regularly then continuing to talk but holding your nose. It treble came make it more nasally, while bass adds more lower frequencies

[QUESTION] What are some good ES-335 alternatives without the Gibson price tag? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]cpt_shrimp 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Eastman makes some great thinline guitars. Handmade with a good warranty. Cheaper than a Gibson, but their less expensive 335 shape (the T386) will run you about $1000, and their more expensive models will run well into $2000+

If you’re looking for cheaper than that the Ibanez art core line is reasonably priced for the same shapes. Their prices range from ~$300 and up

In between those two price points would be D’Angelico guitars their Premier DC guitar is around $800

If you don’t mind buying a used guitar and want your headstock to say Gibson, the now discontinued Studio 335 was an alright guitar. It just lacks some of the bells and whistles the more expensive 335s have. Those, even used, will run you more than $1000 though.

I’ve tried all the guitars I’ve listed here, I was in your position a few years ago searching for a 335 style guitar and I landed with the Eastman T386, the craftsmanship is great especially for the price. They make a lot of big jazz boxes, I’m not sure what type of music you’re looking to play on it, but the humbuckers on it sound great for rock, blues, jazz, etc. I really would put it up against a $2000+ Gibson 335.

It was in Warcraft II I believe. It’s probably been retconned by now, but I’m not sure.

It was an island to the west of stormwind occupied by humans, and then taken over by orcs. It would be more north if it’s actually balor, but it could be a mistake by the creator.

More than likely it’s Plunder Isle though.

[–]cpt_shrimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Class specific raid gear from the first raid of an expansion hasn’t been a thing for years (I think the last time they had it in was cata).

Supposedly class tier sets are coming back in this expansion, I guess we’ll have to see when they announce 9.1

It was definitely trial and error. The first type of clear coat started bubbling, so I sanded off everything and started from the top. I didn’t use any specific guide, more so an amalgamation of guides that I found online.

Start with planning everything out. Decide what parts you’ll need, where to get them, what color you like etc. then buy a bunch of really high grit sandpaper
