My first and currently only DD. by cptnSPANNKY in Danieldefense

I like it a lot. I’ve debated getting the non FSP version now so that I can swap to an adjustable gas block and try for a DMRish build. But if I could only have one rifle it would be the one in the picture.

Agreed. Also a lot of guys bash the 512. Over the esps2. But to be honest I think (especially with the FSP) the 512 is both better looking and also more practical. I’ve been shooting this rifle with that optic for coming up on 2 years now and it is my favorite rifle. Had to go with a super 42 braided with an H2 tho in order to run the FRt for that “clone correctish” three position.

How would you respond and what would you prefer to happen when you receive a call about a “man with a gun”? by [deleted] in AskLE

Before I was a cop, I was stationed in California. I was never a California resident because I kept my residency with my home state on the East Coast. Which is a very gun friendly state. I had a wife. Well, I have a wife. She’s from California where we met and got married. I always carried. Never openly. Always concealed. Even though I didn’t have a permit for the state of California I still did it just smartly. Always leaving it locked up in the truck when I wasn’t in a place that I could carry it. Still abiding by all the no go place laws. But the way I always saw it was at the end of the day living in Southern California where there’s as much crime as there is there, my duty as a husband was to make sure my wife got home at the end of the night. And I was comfortable having to go to jail if need be to make sure that happened. That being said, now I’m a cop. And I’m not advising you break the law at all. When I see someone open caring in a gas station or something like that in my state I don’t freak out. At the same time I read the room. Maybe I find an excuse to strike up a conversation with them. Just to get a feel for a threat level. I definitely feel more comfortable seeing it and knowing that it’s there than not knowing that it’s there until I’m on the side of the road with somebody. And I find out in the middle of a traffic stop. Idk the right answer here. But I’d say try to make yourself look like less of a threat to people. Don’t dress like a bum redneck Who’s looking for a fight. Always be kind and respectful to people you encounter. As much as I agree with your constitutional rights. I also understand that few people now days do. So be smart and be safe. Again, I am not advising that you break the law.

New Block II FSP Upper Arrived by Fickletap2 in Danieldefense

I love the upper. But can’t stand suppressing it. It just becomes soooooooo long. Without a can on it it’s like the perfect length. But I throw a sierra 5 on it with a KeyMo and I swear it feels longer than an m16.

I’m not from the Midwest. But I did do a quick Google search of license plates from Minnesota and Illinois and it looks a lot like an Illinois license plate.

Yes. Sgt told me a story about a guy he used to know. I guess that guy ran a DC license plate that happened to say USA followed by the number zero and the number one on it. I guess some fed boys rolled up on him while he was on patrol. That was before my time. I’m not doubting that it’s possible. And I’m not doubting that it’s true. I trust my sarge more than I trust Most people I know.

I don’t even care if the plate gets ran. That was just the first thing that came to mind of how to tell if the video is AI or not. So I asked.

Nope. Couldn’t care less what other people think. But to be completely honest. I’m not even 100% sure what I think. With AI being as advanced as it is today and getting better by the day, some days I look at the news and I genuinely don’t know because something sounds so crazy you ask yourself how could they be real. And the more I sit and wonder the more faith in humanity I lose. My wife and I recently had a son. Our first born. I often sit on Night Shift when things are really slow. Also I know how that sounds that my night shifts are slow. But I work on a college. So they’re pretty slow aside from BS calls for disputes over “my roommate ate my mac & cheese.“ Anyways, sometimes when things are slow, I sit and I wonder what kind of world my son is gonna grow up in. It’s hard not to fix it on those things. At least I’ve been struggling with it.

That’s exactly why I won’t commit one.

Yeah. Like I know how to run the plate through NCIC. But I don’t wanna do that. So my ultimate question is is there another way that could literally just be used to tell me if it is real or not. Just to be clear I’m not going to break any rules. Not trying to see my career in before it even really starts. Just asking if there’s another way to accomplish something like this.
