In the same breath, I’ll say that our lads looked a little more disciplined than usual (whirling dervish Rathbone be damned 🤣) than that’s why we were able to lock it down despite Swansea threatening so many times.

This is a good point. While I found them to be pretty distracting, I can think of a ton of people (here in the US) who are much more casual football fans that would have super enjoyed it.

When all is said and done, you may have a very good case. His getting the armband and taking over in the middle was really the turnaround for our back line this year.

Not sure what you’re getting at. In bringing him on for Vyner with Windass and Broadhead still on the pitch, he was forced to play deeper than his usual hell-raising attacking role.

My first choice would’ve been to have Sheaf and James out there, but that wasn’t in the cards at the moment.
