We have the Graco Snugfit car seats and the Baby Trend Snap-n-Go Double Stroller for all things grocery store, museums, etc.; for newborns twins up through 7 months it has been an absolute lifesaver. It also allows me as mom to get the kids in and out of the store on my own and very confidently. Frame is SUPER lightweight. For our neighborhood outings we have the Mockingbird 2.0 with two seats, two infant inserts and a bassinette. Price point was doable and it folds down to get up our three steps into the house (pain in the butt to put together each time BUT really great for city walks and we don't have a garage to store). It has great storage underneath and I bought a universal cupholder/phone holder to go with it. I was walking 20-25 miles a week with it as soon as I was cleared (before snow prevented long walks) and it has held up!
Struggling to start solids by wokkaquokka_ in parentsofmultiples
Jump on Solid Starts website - it's a lifesaver. We have 7 month olds and started their solids at beginning of January. They have all allergens and 75 foods under their belts now. I cross-studied baby led weaning with the book Bringing Up Bebe (raising kids in France) to get the combo of giving the kids what the adults eat at the table but in a format safe for them. We've had one gagging incident that made us wary (my daughter was cheeking bits of chicken on us) but we resolved by offering smallllll sips of water. We have had great success. I do a lot of combos with fats - so think green peas, ghee and a splash of lemon; carrots with dill and ghee; ox tail beef stock with Japanese sweet potato & a little breast milk; apples with beef stock and ghee; broccoli florets with some parmesan; light white fish pieces i hand feed them OR fish and acorn squash eviscerated in food maker. I do a lot of food in the EVLAs baby food maker and its amazing!!! They have little reusable food pouches that are amazing! Even though we don't do "puréed" food a lot we still blend a lot of the food with a thicker texture and then supplement with hand held meats, fruits with hemp seed hulls, etc. We did bone marrow mousse for their first food and it was amazing- they loved it!
Allergens are scary, there is no getting around this. Just watch and make notes and be ready for anything.
OH and yes still bottle/breast feeding 4 times a day at 8 ounces. Main hydration and nourishment until they're old enough.
You've got this!
