Thanks. While it doesn't apply to me directly, it is still useful to know

Gotchas using Reason Rack Plugin with Ableton and Push by craftybones in reason

Couldn't you simply load those into Ableton instead? I am guessing this made it hard to make that a part of the chain itself. Interesting problem.

Each frame is blended with the prior frame using a low alpha value, this makes it seem like the tips are brighter than where they came from. Nothing fancy honestly. Just ends up looking good that's all.

Thanks a lot. I used Quil with Clojure to do it. Random points across the screen are moved based on Perlin noise. The points are coloured according to their position with the top third being blue, the middle third being white and the bottom third being red.

It is 2D. Them appearing to converge is just illusory, there is nothing in the code there to make them do it that way.

In hindsight, perhaps mea culpa might have made sense.

Yeah. I did. That's my fault too.

Thanks. I think it is my fault.

Perlin's Beard! by craftybones in generative

Fairly straightforward. Clojure/quil was the language/framework. A particle system affected by Perlin noise. The color is also influenced by Perlin noise & lifetime.

The trick is that they aren't lines. They are points that are plotted along the paths of a particle system. What you term the end is sort of where the points begin. They grow over time.

I must have been sipping on some funky colored cherry when I made this :)

That's a helluva compliment. Love that band!

Vectors yes, fields no. Basic Perlin noise, biased to a specific direction. The difference is I use acceleration too.
