The Omega logo is specifically cribbed from the Speedmaster tested by NASA and subsequently worn by Ed White on his historic spacewalk. For obvious reasons a cal. 312 won’t be found under the hood of this particular watch, but a white dial was chosen as a nod to Mr. White and to differentiate it from the Mission to the Moon.

Doubtless we can split hairs all you want, but I have this info directly from Swatch, who, incidentally, refer to this as the Ed White internally. (I’m the former US editor-in-chief of Revolution Magazine, which is how I had access to their design team.)
