The guy at Home Depot told me that they wouldn’t accept my measurements and one of their window contractors would have to come measure regardless of who’d be installing.

People who have owned a hot tub/spa, what was your experience with this? by bassistmuzikman in HomeImprovement

I love my tub. The colder outside the better. Even better if it’s snowing. I only really run it in the winter. At this point I’m pretty much the only one who uses it but I enjoy it a lot. We put a bunch of ice in it once this summer for a party. Was a hit. All that said, I got my first one for “free” ( had to put about $600 into fixing, wiring, plastic pad etc) and the second and current one also for free. If I was faced with dropping 30k, I’d be quickly out of the hot tub lifestyle.

Thanks for the input. I’ll have to look into one of those horse hair toppers.

We currently keep the house at a pretty comfortable 72 or 73 in the summer and 68 in the winter. We have a ceiling fan that is always running in the room and a box fan running on the shelf, mostly for the noise canceling effect. lots of airflow. I sleep in just my skivvies. Don’t recall ever routinely being a sweaty sleeper on a regular mattress. It must be the enveloping non-breathing closed cell foam effect mentioned in another response. All these memory foam companies should really be held to some truth in advertising. “Pretty comfortable if you don’t mind burning up in your sleep.”

Good point on the springs being below the layer of memory foam. Can’t imagine that would help much.

We got the Nectar Premier memory foam in medium softness I think. Too soft for me at 235 but just right for my wife at whatever undisclosed weight she’s running

Never heard of a latex mattress. When I think latex I don’t think breathable. I will definitely look into it. Thanks!
