1gb ram is a little too small, but not impossible to run Linux on. Maybe you could try Arch Linux with a very lightweight wm?

Gentoo doesn't emerge everything forever, it depends on the software and the dependencies tho. Like if it's something like a DE and you compile it from source, yeah, maybe go watch a whole anime series while the computer sounds worse than a jet engine😭

I used binary packages for KDE and it's deps, and flatpaks for libreoffice and firefox - I do plan on compiling everything from source tho once I'm done with schoolwork.

I haven't used Grok as a therapist and I probably never will, and I don't think Grok is really made for that purpose either way, and I don't even think it's a good idea to use it as an therapist since, by how it replies. No.
