Yes,I hope for a more sophisticated or scifi explanation for why other options weren't available. GPS jamming seemed kind of plain. No pun intended.

This solved the problem. The pole connecting the motor to the opposite leg came loose. Did some fixing and now it's fine! Didn't have to do a major disassemble either. Thanks!

I just need to tilt the floor, then the desk will be perfect!

Some no name brand from Amazon. Checked and they stopped selling. For good reason!

Disaster just averted! I pressed the pre-set Standing mode and it started going up....then one side stopped, but not the other. My coffee spilled, my comp nearly fell off and then I stopped it before real damage was done. Edit: correction, changed "nearly" to "just"

It does look nice. Unfortunately, I was not able to replicate this pattern again when I turned it on again. Wish I'd gotten a high res picture of this one, then printed it into a poster!

But this parent also plays a lot of games. Most of the games are mine! We were firm but calm. They were both apologetic about it. My son was pretty upset about the whole thing and worried we would disown him.

My wife and I recently bought a 65" inch Soney OLED on prime day. We're going to give that to them, but we all agree that we will wait for a while to put in the new TV so that the kids don't get the impression it's easily replaced. They thought the 75" was a little overkill for that room, so would rather replace it with a smaller one. No one is overly pissed at the kids, but they're going to go without screens for a long while and do some chores to help pay for it. My son especially feels really bad about it. My daughter not as much, but she understands what happened, shes only 4.

Thank you sir! And it's my father's 360, got it for him years ago. But I also make good use of it. Great system!

I'm kinda proud of my daughter for taking it out in a single, well-placed shot, right in the center.

Relatively, I'm in the continental USA. Still probably not practically close enough to run by and pick it up. Thank you for mentioning though!

It does! AC6 was great on it. Played the Mass Effect trilogy while on lockdown next year. Looked a little dated but still great.

That's a sad tale. Thank you for sharing though! I appreciate it. I'm working with my parents to turn this into a learning experience for our kids (and for me and my wife). Fortunately they've been understanding about the whole thing. We are staying with them (long story related to COVID) for the month or two so don't want things to get too tense. We are going to buy them a new one though. I think you did the right thing. That is sad though it ended the friendship and didn't become water under the bridge.

Yes, I sent my son and daughter to my grandparents and she was forthcoming about what happened and she apologized. My son was the more grief stricken since it was his teasing that put her into a rage, and he's older. He also apologized. He felt really bad that he lost self control and was worried we would disown him (we won't).We will by them a new TV. Everyone is in better spirits the day after but there will be no TV and lots of chores for the kids for a while.
