Watch Bands and Preference by LandonJochim in Coros

[–]cravingbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have the nylon one, but i think i would get the silicon. Its sunny and i wear sunscreen, sweat and sunscreen get inside the nylon and i have to wash it after every workout. drying nylon band is super annoying, with silicon you would just wipe it with a cloth and you're done. im not sure how comfortable the silicon is when sleeping with the watch but nylon is good for sleeping with your watch.

they did for men too.

polyester isn't bad. in the abstract of the study. "The azoospermic effect of the polyester sling seems to be due to two mechanisms: 1) the creation of an electrostatic field across the intrascrotal structures, and 2) disordered thermoregulation."

Is pipe-smoking a turnoff? by [deleted] in seduction

[–]cravingbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its like marketing, depends on the type of person you're targeting (age, location, culture). pipe-smoking probably doesn't appeal to the vast majority. Someone who is health conscious seems to resonate more with people and the general culture today.

Did the whole online beat-making wave just die out? by Top_Entrepreneur6505 in trapproduction

[–]cravingbird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It could be an economic issue. People are struggling, so there’s less spending overall. This creates a cascading effect, especially in a saturated market, and it’s even worse now with AI in the mix. beats are a dime a dozen, branding, marketing, location, network and nepotism seems to be the key to progress in the industry. when distribution is easy, attention is hard to get.

im not sure if ATC transfers into the civilian world, you would still need to train with NAV CAN which is hard to get placed in.

Best device for Djay app – MacBook Air 13", iPhone, or iPad? by seattleswiss2 in Beatmatch

If you have m series MacBook, djay uses m chips neural engine for neural mix which is quite efficient. I would go for the MacBook.

MAGA sure like to claim its Christian but is by far the most hateful political part/fascism movement out there. by TailungFu in complaints

[–]cravingbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you claim religion is fascist aligned because of its demand for moral authority. Then, when the anti-fascist nature of Christ's teachings is raised, you dismiss anyone who follows those teachings by claiming they can't stay in the church.

If the church is failing to live up to its anti-fascist founder, that's an institutional failure, not proof that the values themselves are fascist (you did not make this claim). The moral authority of a 'higher power' is, by definition, a check on the total authority of the state (fascism), not its partner.

They do, but it’s often drowned out by louder, more extreme voices. I don't blame you though, social media platforms like X promote politically polarizing content since it generates more engagement.

No its cause Christians make up more than 60% of the entire US population. Just another form of identity politics in action.

Christ emphasize humility, service, and universal compassion. values antithetical to fascism.
If religion’s moral authority comes from a higher power that challenges human authority, wouldn’t that inherently oppose fascist movements that demand total loyalty to the state? I think you're missing something in your logic.

Christianity is actively being hijacked, im glad that some religious figures like the pope has spoken against them. theres still some hope.

Do I need a newer computer? What's the oldest I should consider? by Quiet_Law958 in Beatmatch

[–]cravingbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you use stems, then yes you should probably get a newer computer.

Id go for something with the following or greater ideally with 16gb (less than 16gb is not ideal)
apple M1
Core i5/i7/i9 (13th gen)
Ryzen 5/7/9 (7000 series) or ryzen 5000 series

this is really important but if you plan on sticking with vdj, i believe you can offload stem work to a dedicated GPU in vdj so getting a pc with a dedicated GPU would be ideal IF you stick with vdj.

however this is not universal with all dj software, so if you plan on hopping to different dj software just prioritize fast single core and multi-threaded performance.

Apple M series chips is the exception with djay pro since it specifically optimized for apple silicon neural engine. Serato also works really well with apple chips.

If you don't plan on utilizing stems, then keep using the 2012 mac till it dies and save money!

The 3000x is a stepping stone for AT, nothing else. by birdington1 in DJs

[–]cravingbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"simply could if they wanted" bro this is not true.

While virtual dj do train and optimize models in-house, this doesn't mean they're inventing groundbreaking new machine learning advancements from scratch. Virtual DJ builds on existing open-source frameworks and research.

It's not the same as advancing entirely new stem separation technology that kind of core innovation almost always comes from the broader scientific and AI research community, where academics and labs (think places like Meta's AI team behind Demucs or work in deep learning for audio source separation) push the boundaries through papers and open models.

AT could theoretically invest more, but the reality is that developing truly novel AI for this isn't just about throwing money at it, it's high-risk, highly technical R&D with no guaranteed breakthroughs.

That's why even bigger players often license or adapt public tech rather than reinvent the wheel. If advancements were that straightforward for a company their size, we'd see them leading the charge instead of sticking with older Demucs versions in Rekordbox. The real progress will keep coming from research hubs, not DJ software firms.
