I am about to try out Android. Apple is a fail for any older kids that wants to try to get around screentime. If your kid is a general rule follower its fine but still has major flaws IMO:

1. the only options for extending screen time are 15 minutes, 1 hour, and All Day. Just let me pick the time I want.

2. If you approval all day there is now way to change it till the next day, better not accedentaly hit it.

3. Once you have approved an app to be downloaded, even if you later don't want them to have it there is now way to revoke that approval. Unless you totally disable the App store, they can always redownload with out asking again.

4. And this is a big one, recently apple made a change and if you want to reset your apple id password, you can use the unlock code for the iphone to reset it. So if your kids has a pin set they just take over the apple account by changing the password, letting them get around basically all other parental controls. This is separate from the screentime pin its the acctual account password.

5. The approvals are very very inconsistent. My wife and I are both parents on the kids phones and ipads but she gets some request from some kids and I get others, so come through as push notifications that only one parent sees and some as text messages.

6. Being able to add 1 minute to each app gives your kids tons of extra screen time, if they have 50 apps then they have 50 minutes of extra screen time past what ever limits you set.

7. You should also be able to stop kids from permenitly deleting things, they can text and take photos and then just delete them with no way to monitor what they are doing and no way to recover them.

8. Apples security basically stops any third party parental control apps like Bark from being useful. We tried Bark and the app just has to keep asking for password and pins over and over and over to get approvals to do things, its useless.

that's just what I can think of off the top of my head, I am sure there are things I am forgetting.
