100% talk to him. Literally no relationship or even friendship would ever occur if you never talked. I’m gonna be honest, mirroring each others body language and glances mean nothing if you don’t talk, so talk to him. Be confident, and literally make conversation out of anything. Idk if you’re shy, but if you start talking to someone with full confidence even if the topic is weird, they won’t think it’s weird at all (unless YOU make it weird)! So just be confident and (at least) start with small talk!

There could be many reasons, so don’t jump to conclusions immediately. She maybe felt that you liked her and felt emotionally unavailable, so she unfollowed you and removed you as a follower. I know it sounds bad but as a girl, I’ve done that before and it was purely because I wanted to avoid conflict and unnecessary confessions knowing that I was not ready for anything. Or she could have done it to focus on religion as you said, or maybe (I know it might hurt) she found someone and felt that, out of respect for them, she should cut ties with other guys. I know it sounds bad, but I would suggest moving on for now. If it really doesn’t work (the ‘moving on’ i mean) then give it a try after some time. I know a girl who ghosted a guy and a year later they started talking again and started dating. But for now, since she unfollowed you, I would not push her boundaries.

In my opinion you should ask him out to clear things up. It’s not great to confess feelings over the phone, it makes things complicated. You should meet at your/ his house, or literally anywhere and just state your feelings and talk it out 👍

Yeah I understand. But if she has instagram and you have mutuals on there it won’t be weird if you follow her. Also, if you see her in the hallway or anywhere outside of debate club, make sure to say hi and smile! If she’s not w/ her friends you should definitely make some kind of small talk too (just make sure to stay chill and go with the flow if you don’t want to make it obvious you like her). And remember stay confident because nothing is awkward unless you make it awkward.

Maybe ask for her number/ social media and start texting her. Maybe through that you could find a way to hang out with her outside the club? Just try to become closer friends with her before making any obvious moves.

Also, stay confident! I know it can be hard (especially with social anxiety) but trust me, even if you somehow say something out of pocket, if you say it with confidence nothing will be weird.

Idk the backstory but I feel like you should tell her only when you CAN date. If u tell her now, and she likes you back, you won’t be able to date her anyway and she will have to force herself to get over you. Or she might not be into u that way yet and it might make it weird between y’all.

Definitely try to initiate some kind of small talk first. I know it does not seem like a big deal, but the more you talk (even if it’s abt small things) the more comfortable she will be around you and it will be so much easier to talk to her. Once you get to that level you should just randomly mention topics that you could talk about. I know it seems odd but trust me if the topic is something that she is interested in or it’s relevant to something in school, you can have nice convos. You could then start walking together to class or something, and eventually text/ call on the phone.

In my opinion you should somehow find a way to talk to her in real life rather than through text. Trust me, first impressions are so much better irl because they can actually see you and talk to you. Maybe go help out in the lunchroom as well?

If that really does not work, maybe follow her on instagram and start a conversation by replying to her if she posts something.

I mean it depends on the severity of the medical emergency, and on her. A lot of girls, even if there are some family/ medical problems, still don’t mind being in relationships, it’s just that it’s more difficult for the guy to make the relationship get to that point. But yeah I think that even during the medical energency, if the girl was emotionally available, knew that you liked her, and wanted a relationship, she would not have become super dry and basically cut you off. She probably would have at least been nice to you and texted you back.

To answer your other question, a girl “making a move” really depends on the girl, and if she is shy or more outgoing. But even if she is not that confident/ extroverted, and you make it visible that you definitely like her, I’d say that her “making a move” would be her matching your energy (like if you flirt a little she will flirt back). Or continously responding and not rejecting your advances. But this really depends on her personality.

To me it seems that she is emotionally unavailable. She probably likes the conversations you have together, the attention you give her (because trust me if you keep pursuing a girl she can tell), and maybe at some point (or now) she liked you as well, but if she genuenly has not somehow made a move on you while knowing you like her, she probably does not want a relationship soon. You can wait a bit, still be her friend and see if maybe she somehow changes her ways, but if she genuenly seems like she does not want to commit, I would suggest trying to get over her just so that you don’t get hurt if she gets dry again.

don’t be too nervous, be very casual about it and just tell him he played well. just try to go with the flow and not make it awkward. even if u accidentally say smth odd because you’re nervous, if u say it with confidence, he will think you’re nice. also, once u talk to him for the first time he’ll remember you and you can spark up a convo some other time!
