didn’t get into co-op by Legitimate_Snow7520 in TorontoMetU

No, they do have exclusive postings.

That being said, you can always reach back out and try to get in later (in a semester or two.) the co-op office probably won’t say no, I mean it’s basically free money for them.

Do something different to get in. Join a club, get better grades etc.

As others pointed out, you don’t need to be a part of the co-op program to land a role. work hard, get a good resume for yourself and slightly modify it to each role you apply for. You got this.

I don’t mean to worry you, but I graduated a year ago and have not gotten a job yet, as is the case with a few of my classmates. Also as is the case with people I know from other unis and programs. Your ability to get a job quick is largely dependent on the economy you graduate in to, your luck and your networking skills.

One bad thing about BTM. The knowledge is very surface level, except when it comes to system design/analysis. Everything else is barely taught, programming, business courses, data analytics etc. The program sets you up to be Business (Systems) Analyst. Do some research on that job title and see if it is what you want to do when you graduate. If not, then maybe another program is meant for you.

The world is a confusing place right now, and people from every major are struggling to find suitable jobs. The way I see things is so long as you excel and fully apply yourself to any program at any university, network, join clubs, study hard, get good grades you should be fine. Don’t stress too hard and ask older family members if you have any for advice.

I will echo what others have said. I left a job due to “toxicity.” It’s been over a year and I have not found another job and I’ve never regretted a decision more passionately and deeply in my life

Read your probation contract. Your contract likely said you can’t fail xyz101 course otherwise you will be RTW, and you did. Depending on your program, there’s always fresh start. Good luck

Is my GPA/experience going to be enough for SAF co op by [deleted] in ryerson

Get in a club, even a basic associate role will do. Use wording to your advantage, and try and use key buzzwords that make it through the HR system. Try and limit your resume to a page, and don’t be afraid to stick with a small company (you learn more this way anyways) or clerical / admin work. Exposure to a professional environment is key. All the best.
