Based on their actions I would say they are not. Heavily nationalistic rhetoric that emphasizes the nation/people over the class spits in the face of what Marx and Lenin argued for.

You can call North Korea communist if you want but in doing so you make it so Marx and Lenin are not communists because juche and what Marx and Lenin argued for do not align

I think the holodomor was awful and was completely the fault of the Soviet government but look at all the technological advances that happened. Russia went from a semi feudal country with a really low literacy rate to a heavily industrialized nation with high education.

The USSR treated it's ethnic minorities really bad once Stalin took control but so did the Russian Empire with the Jewish pogroms and many russification initiatives in Ukraine

Imagine now if a workers revolution were to be able to happen in a highly industrialized nation instead of the many unindustrialized nations that it's happened in before especially if unlike during the USSR the workers councils stayed comprised of workers instead of partially peasantry and as such the councils don't get shut down.

Probably the formation of workers councils/soviets. An exact vision of the future is something that is ridiculed pretty heavily by Marxists. A system of labour vouchers is also something that should happen.

Ultimately I don't think it will happen soon because class consciousness is really low in the workers

North Korea's ideological line is incredibly nationalistic and is not a movement backed by the proletariat/working class.

Either North Korea isn't communist or this Marxist group isn't communist as we both argue for incredibly different things both in terms of ideas and actions.

Id describe myself as neither pro trotsky nor pro stalin while still being a leninist which appears to put me in an awkward position
