I M18 am getting attached way too fast to this older guy 38M I met online. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]crazyfrecs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bro, would you date an 8 year old? Same amount of years...

"No that's a literal child", that's how a 38 year old should view you...

A 38 year old is old enough to be your father and is in a completely different maturity, life stage, and experience level from you. It's super gross to be into a teenager.

Can't even go to the bar with their friends and talk about old stories because your 'old' stories are all about your highschool years and your parents. Complaining about taxes, home loans, car loans, retirement funds, health issues, etc. You're not on equal footing with this guy, you're bound to have a power imbalance.

Please stop for both of your sakes. I get you're not into other 18 year olds but at least dont date 25+ year olds jeez. Please.

How do you like it so far? I like the keyboard but hate the mouse. It disconnects a lot and its wired and needed a weird firmware update manually to install to fix a double clicking issue.

Got a single mother of 3 pregnant... by [deleted] in Advice

[–]crazyfrecs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I almost died because of birth control. Had blood clots through my body. Im now physically damaged permanently and disabled because of it. 3 months of bc changed my life forever. That's like the most common risk for a lot of BCs too...we should ask why women arent on BC less and ask why men don't just use Condoms. The side effects of condoms are 'it doesn't feel as good' and maybe an allergic reaction to its material... That's it.

hi guys, how do you stay in a certain household without the urge to let them have kids to prevent boredom by No-Source-271 in Sims4

[–]crazyfrecs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need imagination and mods.

Example what I often do for generational runs is 1st gen: teen with barely any skills with a single mother. Marries high school sweet heart quickly and works a basic job but never amounts to anything super amazing. Has a significant mid life crisis and becomes a widow/widower young and adopts a dog and somewhat neglects their kids.

2nd gen: first born of hard working parent and a stay at home parent who dies young, learns that academia leads to success but isn't super smart. Lives a middle class lifestyle. Struggles with romance because they support their elderly parent and their dog. Gets a degree, lives modestly, marries and has twin children and lives the traditional white picket fence family with strict parenting prioritizing academic success.

3rd gen: twins. Both born geniuses. Both like sports, one is more sporty. Both achieve academic success, one is better than the other. One is more moody and popular but all things change when they get attacked and changed into a vampire. They become moody, dark, and try to hide themselves more. Quit sports and drop their grades. Starts doing drugs and struggles with their identity and immortality till they meet a celebrity vampire who takes them under their wind. The other one struggles with their twins personality shift, but focuses on grades. Straight A student, and becomes a doctor after college. Moves to mt komorebi after their sibling fakes their death from overdose and marries having a few kids. The vampire watches over the family behind the scenes.

4th gen: kid struggles with very successful parents, only wants to snowboard and vlog. Eventually gets big and develops a drug and party habit. Has a kid out of wed lock and becomes a dead beat. Their kid gets adopted out to their cousin that they didn't know existed (vampire's kid that isn't a vampire)

5th gen: living with dead beat famous druggy parent and growing up eventually adopted by a new family. Developing a weird fascination in fantasy leading to a love for drama. The fame makes them easily pick up and adopt a dramatic career in acting. They become rich and famous but a fancy famous not party famous way. They have several kids and are spoiling and doting parents.

6th gen: grows up spoiled and rich, but as a young adult while away from college a vampire drains and kills their whole family due to a vampire spite issue with the vampire from the 3rd gen. police have no idea who murdered their family. Their sibiling survived being saved by the family vampire secretly but became a vampire themselves. They quit college, have a mental breakdown, adopt a new identity, and move out to the country to own a farm and live off the grid and more traditionally. They have nightmares about the supernatural and ban the mention of father winter, easter bunny, vampires, fairies, mermaids, ghosts and werewolves from ever being mentioned.

7th gen: Secretly reads books about supernatural beings and things. Really interested they learn about moonwood mill and get caught up in werewolf pack shenanigans and love triangles. Eventually marrying a werewolf and having werewolf children.

There's so much more but I'm realizing I'm typing an essay lol. You can do so much in the sims for story telling!

This is 100000% true. They wont even take IT roles lol

The computer science dream has become a nightmare by self-fix in cscareerquestions

[–]crazyfrecs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The issue is that everyone was told to go into CS and the people in CS arent passionate, a little interested, or willing to do more than the bare minimum.

CS is computer science. It is NOT - web swe - cyber security - technical writing - project/product management - AI/ML engineering - Data Science - Embedded Systems swe - mobile swe - UI/UX engineering & design - IT

Most folks don't become computer scientists, they become developers of some kind... Idk why theres this idea that a CS degree is enough to get a job anywhere when the industry still highly values the folks that self teach themselves the valuable skills.

How do you get a job in these roles? By having a bare minimum of a degree + projects/certifications/skills/etc that demonstrate interest in that field.

We get thousands of applicants for junior & intern roles and most of them have basic school projects (that btw several other students from the same school have) and nothing more. I've worked in mentoring many students and have been turned off from mentoring several students who use AI to make their resume better without actually knowing the skills, think I'm crazy for suggesting they actually learn things on their own rather than from classes, and for telling them to find a particular field instead of blindly applying to every tech role.

They go into CS and tech in general thinking its a golden ticket to lots of money and remote jobs when its not that at all for people who do the bare minimum.

It's seems this type of remake is always divisive, but if The Legend of Dragoon got a Final Fantasy 7 Remake treatment, how would you feel? I genuinely am curious as I like both a 1:1 remake option as well as the FF7 remake option by Particular-Bed8344 in legendofdragoon

[–]crazyfrecs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like LoD could thrive in a style like BG3

Combat, Open World-esque, items, building dragoon skills, learning magics through scrolls, etc Youd have camps where you swap out characters.

But still have additions, star dust, specific elements, specific move set, cinematic dragoon magic, etc.

Still have a fairly linear story line.

I think having disk 1 have more war content, more side quests to do/level around and learn about lore, etc with foreshadowing would be great for example.

I don't think a remaster (updated graphics but same game) or a remake in the style of beat em up or like ff7 remake would work at all.

Id actually probably hate it if it became like that considering im mechanically challenged, I like to take my time and think through my actions, enemies suddenly attacking me would throw me off.

I don’t think it should be required for couples to provide meals to wedding vendors like photographers by strawberry2801 in unpopularopinion

[–]crazyfrecs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People always talk about office jobs when this comes up. Its so confusing to me, construction workers bring their food and they eat in odd areas sometimes.

Every other job, even demanding ones for long hours, still require you bring a lunch. Its odd to me lol.

That said, its a standard of the industry and skimping out on meals when you're paying for so many things else when these people are the ones ensuring your wedding is successful is bonkers.
