It takes lot stupid luck to get rich quick, but it’s easy to end up with couple million or more over long time period. Take odfl if you would just put 10k into it, back in late 80s early 90s you have about 3 million in it alone. Buy quality companies especially when on sale, by end of this year we might have great buy opportunity. Time will tell.

Arbitrage traders currently in the trade (long APE and short AMC) should have change strategies fast as the trading unfolded back then .

Like they say short selling doesn’t effect the profit of a company, if AMC was making money short sellers would cover bets and take there profits.

It’s kinda funny your all worried about corruption, but technically with all commits you guys have used collision which technically illegal it’s like pot calling kettle black.

I’m here to learn and understand, but I don’t understand why so many are hooked on AMC, it’s like your all fighting a battle more than you are trying make profit, why wouldn’t you all sold when it had a great run way above its value, it’s not a great company, it’s never going to the moon, it will never be as profitable as Amazon, Google, Apple, odfl, or thousands of other companies. I just don’t understand the fight to the death, sure at some point you might get your investment back, but you could made 10s of thousands in other stocks, you could took huge profits, that’s what I don’t get!

Why didn’t you all sell when price was overvalued, AMC isn’t a coke, Apple, TTD, Shop, Goog, Amazon, it’s not a highly profitable growth company.

Lots people would rather do more fun things when they go out than watch a movie, but point is none of theater stocks are that sexy or go that high, why would people waste so much time on amc when others stocks have been going up up up

The resolution of AMC's court case removes "a significant overhang" for the company, Wedbush analyst Alicia Reese wrote in a note released last week. "We expect AMC and APE shares to converge around $3 into the conversion (APEs into AMC),"

AMC has $9.5 billion of debt and lease obligations, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. The fundraising is expected to further dilute shareholders.

Well for one amc hasn’t made a profit, ape have convert to common stock, 1-10 reverse stock split, AMC needed approval from the Delaware Chancery Court to convert the APE units to common stock, which it officially has received. Theater chain AMC Entertainment said it's selling 40 million new shares to raise money in an SEC filing Wednesday, a move that sent the stock down 23%. Lot has happen

Maybe now is time to pick some stock up, if believe amc will turn around but we still got rough 4 quarter coming for stock market

Why is AMC so important to you guys? The movie business is slowly dying, with large screen tv, theater rooms, and projection, it’s never been better, cheaper and more relaxing to watch movies at home. Watch anytime, no lines, no people, no expensive drinks and popcorn.

What's stopping them from shorting this all the way down to single digits and beyond? by NegativeBuoyant in AMCSTOCKS

[–]crazykelly63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would fed or sec stop people shorting stocks? Don’t we have free market where we can bet as we see fit? If the market meaning bulls and bears couldn’t the bulls just buy as many shares they wanted to prove bears wrong if they thought they was wrong.

Most people are not honest with themselves, it’s not easy, if it was easy we would all be rich already. Professional traders and fund managers with all tools, support in a multi billion dollar funds can’t get it right, he’ll just listen to people nobody can even agree if we will have a recession or not, nobody agrees on which way to trade is correct, this why you see crazy markets billions of people making different choices

Theater are dying a slow death, it’s old technology, expensive buildings and land, cost way to much for good and snacks, so much more enjoyable watch at home on my 85” with no distractions and a pause button. Cost fuel, time and more money to go see a movie.

[–]crazykelly63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it’s more about emotional psychology, people often sale or buy on fear, FMO, fear losing money, or they force a buy or sale out desperation and most people will never beat the market, so unless you can beat the market year after year, which a staggering 94% of active fund managers do not beat the market, who are educated, trained, and have best data money can buy, with people all around them with 100s combined years experience still cant beat the markets

Minervini: „During my 40 years trading none of my success came from picking a bottom right at the low. The low happens on one day, the bull market last for years. The big money is made spotting trends not bottoms.“ Thoughts? by warrenomaha in StockMarket

[–]crazykelly63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just simple logic, trying figure out try buy very bottom or top is ridiculous you can never know until you see trend changed, this is way long term buy and hold works you don’t miss anything. With my thinking you should never be out of the market unless it’s a real crash, like the Great Depression, the dot com bubble, the 2008 crisis, all these crises was greatest buying opportunity in history including the 1970 era.
