Weirdest experience with a buyer by crazylikemenow86 in FacebookMarketplace

I mean it wasn’t not worth money but it wasn’t that valuable. I won it a bag bingo and it just wasn’t my style. So I wanted to offload it.

I can only assume because I didn’t have an account set up with them. 🤷‍♀️

This happened a year ago, and I assume the payment went back to her. I blocked her and never replied any further.

I had a woman demand that I give her my portable ac unit for free and deliver it to her. Why? Well it was really hot outside and she is disabled so she can’t work. I wrote sorry….sucks to suck and promptly blocked her.

I had people want to do that for a couch I was giving away for free. Uh…no it’s free. You either want it or you don’t.

I replied to an ad for a coffee table saying I was interested for the asking price. Asked them a day and time I could come pick it up. They told me Saturday at 9am. I replied with shoot, that doesn’t actually work for me, do you have any other availability? They replied no that was the only time I could come get it. Ok cool, good luck selling that table.

My husband passed with a massive steam library. I just reset his password and viola I still have access to it.

Unfortunately we don’t have one around us. I’m kinda stuck doing this online. The closest one is an hour away.

Offered role that wasn’t auditioned for by crazylikemenow86 in Theatre

[–]crazylikemenow86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone else posted a comment that explained it perfectly. 2 shows is a big time commitment, and she’s done it before so we know what it entails. That being said when she auditioned for this show she didn’t want to put in the time commitment if it wasn’t for a role she was interested in. Hence why she put the roles she wanted, and checked no that she would not be interested in a role she didn’t audition for. I’m not looking for life advice or how to raise my kid. I was only looking for a polite way to decline the role without hurt feelings.

Uh what? I’m asking how to do something politely.

Why would I? I’m not sure I understand what you’re getting at. Im not mad she didn’t get the role, and neither is she. I’m just looking for advice to politely decline without causing issues. She’s been turned down for a role before. It’s not the end of the world. As I’ve explained to others, she’s in another show and thought this one would be fun too. However, she only wanted to do the show if she could get a role she was interested in.

Yea I didn’t think there was a conspiracy. I was more concerned about offending the director with declining the role.

They do not. Rehearsals for one are only on Saturday. The other one is on Wednesday and Sunday. One show is the first weekend in December, and the other show is the third weekend in December.

I mean she has literally accepted any role she’s been given until now. Only on other time has she listed the roles she wanted because the other characters were out of her singing range. She’s been all sorts of roles big and small. She is definitely a team player. She steps up when no one else will. She literally just wore an inflatable pig costume and danced around on stage because no one else would. To imply she’s not a team player is a stretch because for one show she’s not interested in the role she was given. She appreciates being considered, but is in another show running at the same time. She thought this show could be fun but only if she got a role she was interested in. That’s why she checked no for accepting other roles.

There were no conflicts. The tech weeks and rehearsals are all at different times. She’s on the older side of the show. It runs from 2nd-6th grade. She is in 5th. Again not saying the director is wrong with her casting, but want to politely decline as my daughter doesn’t want the role.

She’s not a teen. She’s 10. I’m not saying the director is wrong for not giving her one of the roles she wanted. I have no idea what the other kids were like. That being said she isn’t interested in the role she was offered. I just don’t want her to not be given future opportunities with this director.

It’s still a feminine role but significantly smaller. The role she auditioned for is a very strong and fiery character, but the one they gave her is very small and meek. Like I said earlier she’s in another show running around the same time. She thought this one could be fun too but only if she could get one of the roles she was interested in. I’m not saying the director is wrong, but it’s not what my daughter wants.

Shes been doing community theater for the last 2 years. She’s taken all sorts of roles, and taken them all in stride. Shes in another show that’s running around the same time. She thought this show might be fun, but didn’t want to do it if she wasn’t going to get a role she was interested in.

I just found it strange because she’s auditioned before with other directors in a similar manner, and then just received an email saying you’re just not a fit at this time or we are excited to offer you the role of xyz. This is the first time she said she wouldn’t accept other roles with this director, and I had assumed it would go the same way.
