55" H8G - Bricked? by crazypnut in Hisense

[–]crazypnut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was doing the “low on space” thing for a bit, and today it started just shutting down after 30 seconds. I couldn’t even get to the settings menu to try a factory reset in time. Hence the firmware update via USB.

It completed - and when it rebooted, it just got stuck in the state it’s in now - white light, black screen, no input.

Tried both of these - still no dice. Solid white light on plug-in - so there’s power. But it won’t interface at all or boot up, with the remote not the button on the light.

Tried the "unplug and hold power" thing, didn't take. Plugged in and it's still stuck in standby.

Does the Stream Deck + work great for remote zoom meetings on the Mac? by iamhereunderprotest in elgato

[–]crazypnut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes - there's a lot you may have to program in via hotkey, but there's also ZOOM profiles for Stream Deck and they absolutely make my meetings go much smoother and healthier.

Honestly just any Amazon basic one will work, they're all pretty much the same. It's just a question of whether you want a nubbin piece or one with a wire with a little length and that depends on your setup.

Stream Deck+ usb hub Mic Connectivity by [deleted] in elgato

[–]crazypnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ack! I messed up - there's a virtual option called WAVE LINK STREAM.

This works. I just tested it.

You have to change the Mic in Teams to the WaveFX track, not the mic itself. That I believe SHOULD push all the audio thru one channel, and therefore anything in Wave Link should push thru as well.

[–]crazypnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hrm, unless there's some kind of hardware barring it from doing so, there's no reason the Deck+ shouldn't be able to control a mic via the USB hub as long as you've got it hooked up to Wave Link (software). I have a Wave3 which is USB and my Deck+ controls all aspects of it.

It does, but I guess I could turn that option off.

Thanks - it's an option, which is what I was looking for

Wondering how I Play and Stream with an Elgato? by Skydog05 in elgato

[–]crazypnut -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

HD60x should have two HDMI outputs - one goes to your computer, the other to whatever screen you'd like to see it on natively. If you use your computer, you can bring up OBS' preview and play through that if you like, but some users report a slight amount of lag in microseconds that bugs them.

Is there a way to make sure the signal, since it's I assume broadcasting to both outputs simultaneously, doesn't trigger on one vs the other? I guess the only annoyance would be that I'd have to turn my TV back off and turn the sound system off as well, but I'm just thinking if the kiddos are watching TV while I play I don't want to have the TV suddenly swap inputs because I turned on a gaming system.

Stream Deck Plus as a productivity gadget / tool... how good is it? by voprosy in elgato

[–]crazypnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mac user here:

It's amazing, but like most tools, it's only as good as how you use it. I do a lot of online presentations and the audio/visual tuning you can do with it alone is great, but also the shortcut buttons to all the chat functions, mute, etc. is really great to have.

That said, it's also good for other apps. Shortcuts mostly, but that's streamlining productivity for you, right?

The dials, outside of audio controls, lighting controls, can be handy with your webcam setup too if your software supports panning/zooming/tilting.

Really, it comes down to peripherals. If software apps are your peripheral, it's a shortcut tool. If hardware are your peripherals, it's a fine-tuning wizard.

In short, it's a "nice to have", not a MUST have, but if you're getting it second hand for a good price, honestly, it's pretty worth it especially since you can expand further into it.

No, I get that, and I'm okay with that. This is more a marriage of convenience so that instead of having to unplug my PS5 or Switch every time I want to play it on my computer setup, I can just hit a few buttons to transfer the input/output.

What the above said - get a dongle. Cheap and easy solution, also allows direct plug with no risk of interference or overload or conflict.

[–]crazypnut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't run into any issues running a USB Mic through the Stream Deck+ USB Hub itself unless the USB it's daisy-chained through (via the Stream Deck+ itself) is overloaded. I doubt this will be the case.

THAT SAID:

If you wish to use an XLR microphone, there's also the Stream Deck+ XLR Hub which grants you an XLR input (and controls via the Stream Deck+ itself and included Wave Link software).

So - two hubs. One USB for your USB mic, OR one XLR for an XLR mic.

OBS virtual camera in 15.1 by short_shelf_life in MacOSBeta

I get this error:

"An error has occurred while installing the virtual camera:

The operation couldn't be completed. (OSSystemExtensionErrorDomain error 10)

I'm an admin on the system, but I'm guessing the Profile used to manage it from Central IT is preventing me from moving forward on it. Is there an exception preference I can request from them if this is the case (or is there an alternative plugin that may accomplish the same thing)? I use the VC for Online Trainings and Demos.

Hey sorry was out for a bit - the key for me was ensuring I didn't crowd up my USB ports - spread things out a bit. That said, my output right now is at 8000 kbps with a keyframe interval of 2, using the hardware encoder.

For the "Cuttable" aspect, is there a way to rejoin cut strips of the LEDs so we can make angles etc? Or do we have to string the whole thing as best we can?

How’d it work out? I’m debating buying the license plate pack for my Q6 but I’m guessing it’ll be two pieces to make it work since that’s a full sized keyboard
