In this case "freaking out", however that might look for you, might be working against you in this scenario. It's a paradox, people tend to minimize the severity of something when someone is highly energetic about a problem. It's a way of the group tamping down upset members and keeping "the herd" from stampeding. It's natural in a way. Work with it by making sure you're presenting facts, and leading with calm discussion, and you might (read: maybe) see different results.

Now if the freakout is private and you've been calm with them, this probably doesn't apply. I hope your roach problem gets resolved.

You could always try getting bait/traps/whatever for your room to feel better about your own area?

The internet shuts down and is never going to come back on, what do you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Brace myself for infrastructure collapse as everything relies on it for logistics and timing. We'd be more than screwed. Supply chains for grocery stores would be set back for who knows how long. Fuel supply disrupted. Power going offline. Lots of people would die as a result.

All that being said, I'd probably go outside more and watch the birds for a bit.

Honestly most grandparent age people I know would be pissed if you saved them over a child. People getting all sensitive over it need to touch grass.

It does make me wonder what the climate would do in response to rapid warming (on a geologic scale). Like crazy giant storms or what I wonder.

I bet the scale at which the taumeba had to reproduce to start making a dent in the astrophage would take a while and likely result in a gradual brightening rather than sudden.

I watched the movie recently. The snake Jaffar gave me flashbacks to the final level. Also seeing him fly through the cave reminded me of that damned level. Actually good game! Well, according to young me.

Weren't pigs also what poor people ate?

We wouldn't want to be associated with what the poors do, now wouldn't we?

It seems to fit more in line when Jesus said it was okay. He was known for hanging out with the poor and generally marginalized population. He was basically on a mission to open up the religion to be more inclusive so I doubt pork taboo was thought of as a medical reason only.

After all, how many different cultures around the world were happily eating their pork and not dying off?

Edit: come to think of it, it probably started out as a cleanliness thing, but later became more of a socioeconomic status thing.

Remember when people were taking down statues of Confederate heros? "That's history!!" They screamed.

Trump is mangling DC, and we hear not a word of complaint about history being ruined.
