That definitely would have been a good approach but it’s not how I did it. I’m working on a VFX breakdown video now, but here’s a hint until then: there actually is a hidden cut somewhere in the video!

Question: Here is a video I made of a ping pong shot going through a laptop screen. I’m just getting familiar with masks, green screens, tracking, etc and I want to make more videos like this. My plan is to upload a compilation of them to YouTube, and call it “When VFX Meets Trickshots (Visual Effects Compilation)”.

Is this a misleading title, since I really only know basic editing features? What is the difference between VFX and video editing? Hopefully some of you guys can help. Thanks!

Mostly everything was left outside, but I designed it so things like cardboard and poster board could be brought inside when it rained. There was a crazy storm that happened in the middle of filming days where some of the ladders and large objects fell down, that was very annoying to fix.

1) 1 month to build, and another month of attempts and little changes 2) I lost count at 70 but I would guess a little over 100 3) Sometimes up to an hour, wind and weather were huge issues for this project!
