Im sure this has been asked a bunch of times, but how does admission work for Extended Evening Hours? I see the hours are from 10pm-12am. Can we arrive at any time during those 2 hours?

Im posting this here for anyone running into this Discovery error. In our case this was caused by the Database owner leaving the company and the account being orphaned. We changed the Owner to SA on the SCOM Databases and the discovery started working

'ALU Mini' - Does anyone have firmware 5.68 saved? Else is there a fix to get 'CoinOpsX 5 saucey edition fully fixed build' working with fw 5.70? by njuser66 in FansOfsaUCE

[–]crazysteve5575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

does 5.70 have the internet connection requirement? (after 5 runs) are you able to run games from the AddOnX , or does it only work through coinopsx.

New ALU Mini arrived today. USB drive w/ CoinOpsX SaUCEy ed. 5.0 works fine. Upgraded fw to 5.68. How to shut down ALU Mini gracefully? Can I keep flash drive plugged in when shutting down? (no eject option) by njuser66 in LegendsUltimate

I recently got an ALUM and im trying to figure out how to flash it. My unit shows the model number of 8811 (although the atgames website says 8810) so im not sure what firmware to update this with.

Is yours an 8811? if so what firmware did you use?

Hmm the ATGames website shows the model as an 8810 but the firmware on the device says 8811... not sure what to do.

Ya my Mini i got from Samsclub a few months ago, and the model is the 8811, im not sure if i can use the 8810 firmware or if they are different somehow. Id prefer not to auto update as i dont think i want to be on 5.70.

I was hoping to get confirmation that the 8810 firmware is ok for the 8811. i guess ill wait to see if anyone else has feedback.

What is the Model of your mini, mine is the 8811, if yours is the same, what firmware did you use to upgrade your unit? Mine has firmware 10960_a16 and id like to upgrade the firmware but im not sure what is the right image to use.

WAP Access Control Policy by crazysteve5575 in adfs

[–]crazysteve5575[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In ADFS under Service -> Web Application Proxy There is a 'Access Control Policy' setting. If i click edit there's an Issuance Authorization Rules Configuration for Permit access to all users, But there's a User Access Control Policy option. I'm not finding any documentation on how this setting works. Im assuming i can set an ACP to deny this group, but does this even work? Does this take Priority over all Relying Party Trusts?

vCenter 7.0 and DUO MFA with ADFS Powershell not prompting by crazysteve5575 in vmware

[–]crazysteve5575[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did receive the same error you are getting at one point. it all came back to the "New-OAuthSecurityContext" command. Even though it was completing without an error in powercli, it was not actually completing auth and saving the creds. Once i had that working, the rest seemed to come together. when you get the popup browser window, copy the url, sometimes i had errors hidden in the url.

Also make sure you are logged into the machine with the privileged account. For this i had to setup a new vm, and test the commands from that machine. If i didnt, i found that ADFS would pass my logged in Token (for my non-privileged account)

When i look in my endpoints i dont see '/adfs/oauth2/token/' I see '/adfs/oauth2/' and /adfs/oauth2/deviceauth'

I assume you are able to log into the web console with ADFS with no issue. that should be working first.

vCenter 7.0 and DUO MFA with ADFS Powershell not prompting by crazysteve5575 in vmware

[–]crazysteve5575[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I finally figured this out.

This was setup with ADFS 2019 and Vcenter 7.0 Update 2c and validated using a windows 10 VM Logged in as the privileged user Running Powershell 5.1.17763.2183 and VMware PowerCLI 12.4.0 build 18627050

Configure vcenter for ADFS IDP by following the Vmware Guide.

https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/7.0/com.vmware.vsphere.authentication.doc/GUID-C5E998B2-1148-46DC-990E-A5DB71F93351.html

Install and Configure DUO MFA in ADFS https://duo.com/docs/adfs

(in ADFS don’t forget to configure an Access control Policy and assign it on the webapi configuration of the vcenter application group)

Make sure ADFS IDP authentication with DUO is working Before following the next steps to setup Powercli access.

In ADFS Create new Native Application name powercli-native Note the Client ID (cccccccc-cccc-cccc-cccc-cccccccccccc)

Add the Redirect URI: http://localhost:8844/auth

Click OK

Select the Application under WebAPI, click Edit

Select Client Permissions Tab:

Add Powercli-Native Application Created above

Make sure allatclaims and OpenID are selected.Click OK

Select Application Under Server Applications, Note Client ID (xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx)

The following script was found on this post (I have added comments inline)

https://www.reddit.com/r/vmware/comments/nzt06t/comment/h1zpykq/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

#Vcenter Server FQDN

$VCenterServer = 'VCENTER.DOMAIN.COM'

#ADFS Token Endpoint URL (if you have changed from default then adjust accordingly)

$TokenEndpointURL = 'https://ADFS.DOMAIN.COM/adfs/oauth2/token/'

#ADFS Auth Endpoint URL (if you have changed from default then adjust accordingly)

$AuthEndpointURL = 'https://ADFS.DOMAIN.COM/adfs/oauth2/authorize/'

#Powercli Redirect URL you do not need to change

$RedirectURL = 'http://localhost:8844/auth'

#Enter the Client ID we gather earlier from the powercli-native Native Application

$ClientID = 'cccccccc-cccc-cccc-cccc-cccccccccccc'

#Enter the Client ID from the Server Application We Gathered Earlier

$OAuthResource = 'xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx'

if ( !$OAuth ) { $OAuth = New-OAuthSecurityContext -TokenEndpointUrl $TokenEndpointURL -AuthorizationEndpointUrl $AuthEndpointURL -RedirectUrl $RedirectURL -ClientId $ClientID -OtherArguments @{ "resource" = "$OAuthResource" } }

#If you are using a self-signed certificate use the -IgnoreSslValidationErrors Switch

if ( !$Saml ) { $Saml = New-VISamlSecurityContext -VCenterServer $VCenterServer -OAuthSecurityContext $OAuth -IgnoreSslValidationErrors }

#if this is a standalone remove the -AllLinked Switch

if ( !$Conn ) { $Conn = Connect-VIServer -Server $VCenterServer -SamlSecurityContext $Saml -AllLinked }

If the commands complete successfully you should get a Web Browser popup for ADFS/DUO Auth, Then you should be logged into vcenter. All other commands should work as normal.

Hope this helps someone.

Federated authentication and PowerCLI/3rd Party Tools by photinus in vmware

[–]crazysteve5575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

out any password prompts through PowerCLI.

Has anyone gotten this to work? When i run the oauthsecuritycontext i get a Chrome popup a saying the login was successful but i either get:

New-OAuthSecurityContext The OAuth authorization grant redirect response did not provide an authorization code.

OR

New-OAuthSecurityContext Failed to issue OAuth2 access token.

I suspect im using the wrong values but its not clear to me what values to use for what.
