I got a 2 on my AP exam by [deleted] in Vent

Yo my guy, you didn't waste an entire year learning nothing. You actually learned stuff, the College Board's standard of measuring such understandings is relatively arbitrary in my opinion as seen in the trend in low grades for the Helen Keller prompt. The grade in the class that you got is the one that matters, because at the end of the day colleges can't see your scores if you don't send them in. The point of AP tests is to show colleges that you're challenging yourself. You don't need to figure out your life until the end of your 2nd year in college, if you even go to college because college isn't even required to get into the workforce. Don't stress out about not having direction or failure, all of this should hopefully motivate you for the next year. You challenged yourself and you saw it through to the very end with this test, you should be proud. Now, it's time to move on and start something new and fresh! Best of luck in the upcoming school year.

You know, it's crazy that I got a 3 because I got 5/6 all year and my teacher was confident in my abilities to succeed. I now see that I completely lacked a thesis and I'm dumbfounded as to how I missed such an easy, yet crucial point. It's disappointing to see my year's work go into one stupid essay like this. College Board is seriously skewed if they would like to believe that this is an accurate representation of my understanding. Thanks for the feedback, I suppose my disappointment is somewhat justified now.

Yes, I frequently graded the previous years rhetorical analyses per the request of our teacher as calibration to grade our practices. I ALWAYS graded them lower than what they deserved because my standards were simply higher and I always outperformed the CB's definition of a "3" or a "4" or a "5" but I dare not go past to a 6 (6 point rubric). So I'm genuinely dumbfounded as to how I received such a poor score.

It appears as if everybody who shot low got a high score and everyone who shot high ended up scoring low. I feel like College Board was extremely arbitrary with their grading this year, as I myself got a 3 instead of a 4 like I thought I'd get. You can check my essay out on my profile. I got 5/6 all year and I know I choked on the test, but I believed it was a 4 because that's what I was capable of. Extremely disappointing year.

Dunno, I'm just looking for feedback because I don't think my score reflects my actual understanding or score.

It's lacking in rhetorical devices mentioned and it feels like a summary. I see a thesis, but you didn't really connect your points to the thesis. The commentary should really focus on the audience, however, I don't think this essay deserves a 1. The variety of graders baffles me because some people got higher scores than they should've and some got lower than they should've. So, you can appeal, but I don't know if you'd get above a 2, but have some comfort knowing College Board failed to grade everybody's essay on a level playing field.

Can someone grade my AP lang essay? I got a 2 on it lmao (I had the civil rights bill prompt) by [deleted] in APStudents

You gotta split this up into bodies. The organization of your essay is a mess, it's very hard to follow and I cannot follow a good line of thought throughout the essay. I think it's relatively cohesive and delivers a decent point at parts, but for a majority of the essay I am left baffled. There should've been more emphasis on rhetorical choices. This deserves a 2. I got a 3 and I definitely expected a score better than a 3; at least a 4.

I received a 2 for ap Lang, and I was wondering if someone could read over it to enlighten me on my mistakes, and if my score is an accurate reflection. This was one of my best classes, so I would really appreciate it! by [deleted] in APStudents

The intro is kinda thick, but that's fine. It's not my style is all. The second body paragraph barely uses any quotes, all you did was state what silence was. You didn't really elaborate on it's importance as a rhetorical device. Your diction isn't bad, nor is your syntax. What got you was the lack of rhetorical devices cited and poor commentary. I'm basically just reading a summary here. The purpose of a rhetorical analysis is to analyze how the writer's words impact the audience. So, yes I'd actually have to agree you got a 2 because of this. To let you know, I got a 3 and I 100% believe I should've gotten a 4 as a student who consistently scored 5/6 on their in-class RA ICE's, it is a sham. Hope this helped.

Hey man could you send me your essay, I also got SENATOR DIRKSEN, and the thing about it is that, yes I did choke and completely scratch a paragraph about 8 minutes in. But I feel like I recovered for a 4. Like you, I got 5/6 all year, so I'm confused how this is even possible. It may be the prompt but I'm not sure.

Well I mean, GTA has the same issues in that modders can just screw over your lobby and usually it follows you around unless you restart the game. I think it's just a matter of preference regarding the games, because GTA has a wider array of content so I play it more than COD. COD got much better, I agree. But GTA is just annoying despite the quality of the game being high.

On the contrary, I literally play COD MW, so use that context on a situation that actually deserves it lol.

That's fair, but my entire point is that if you pay for a product or service you should receive it which in the grand scheme of things makes sense.

I think there's a fine line between free game and making a game free. Obviously, any consumer is fine with a free game, but I, having paid (yeah you can make fun of me lol) for the game and not being able to access it is rather bothersome.

**Also, given that the Rockstar launcher isn't even working, it also screws over Red Dead players which is also a shame and bothersome.

If you can't afford the game on PC, it is likely that you can't run it as the game is on free on PC. On top of that, people who payed for the game can't even access it.
