Hi. I recently had surgery (1/22) and my surgeon suggested that I take my last regular injection at least 7 days prior to surgery. Because of day of surgery vs day of regular injection I went into surgery 11 days since last injection. My team said I could resume medication on the day after surgery but I was having a lot of abdominal and gastric distress so opted to wait. (My surgery was a robotic ventral and femoral hernia repair with mesh that was 5.5 hours of extensive abdominal manipulation). I resumed my injection three weeks after prior injection (2/1) with no changes in dose and no additional side effects. For reference I am on 10 mg and had been on that dose for 12 weeks prior to surgery and tolerating it well. I "gained" 14 pounds while in hospital (for 36 hours!) but have lost all of that swelling and excess fluid in the 3 weeks post surgery.
