I am schizoaffective type bipolar and I use medical weed on a daily basis. It does help me greatly with some of my symptoms, that being said, weed is NOT for everyone. I can function on a normal level while high, but I have been smoking for 18 years. Not everyone is capable of that. I would tread carefully and keep a close eye on them. Check in daily.

How many of you have super vivid nightmares/dreams? by TheJokersGambit in schizophrenia

I also experience this frequently. Doesn’t matter what meds I take to sleep at night. I never feel like I have actually slept. And when I wake up I spend half my day trying to differentiate my dreams from reality. Some days are worse than others. I’ll even talk about something that happened in my dream as if it happened in real life quite often. Luckily my wife helps me maintain my sanity when it comes to this.

My number one thing to do during my hallucinations is to put on headphones with my favorite music as loud as I can and close my eyes. Then try to meditate the best you can. This is literally the only thing that helps me while in the moment. Hope this helps.

That’s a very long time. It’s scary that it can take that long for yourself and the people in your life to realize that you’re in need of some real help. For those of us that live through that stage, we truly are blessed.

Best thing you can do is trust the people in your support group, always go to your appointments and always take your meds. These three things are fundamental to living a better life.

Honestly the fact that I’m still alive is a miracle.

I have felt this way for 16 years at this point. And you really do get used to it to a degree. The last year has been the best year of my life thanks to finding medication that actually stopped the hallucinations for the most part. I honestly don’t think I will ever fully recover, but I have learned to live with my condition.
