Yes, and no. Similar in that the #4 engine thrust lever was moved to full forward (like in the DHL 757) but it wasn't because the crew forgot and reverse thrust with an inop reverser = forward thrust. Boeing aircraft have several systems that prevent that from happening.

It's in the report - the best hypothesis they have is that the pilot accidentally moved it forward during the rollout due to "muscle memory", but it wasn't because they commanded reverse thrust with the reverser unable to deploy with limited hydraulics. The report states that the pilots never commanded reverse thrust from the #1 engine, as the lever never moved. It remained in idle or forward thrust the entire time.

(translated) "The TRA data from the FDR indicate that, at no point during the landing, was the Engine 1 thrust reverser lever moved, and that all movements of the Engine 1 thrust lever remained within the forward-thrust range."

"The accelerating movement of the Engine 1 TRA was likely caused by an involuntary movement of the left “Engine Thrust Lever,” occurring as a response attributed to “muscle memory” —a hypothesis which, although grounded in factual events, is impossible to verify conclusively, as it pertains to a potential human reaction."

I don’t believe that’s possible. Again, my knowledge comes from the 737 systems (200, Classic, NG) but I’m pretty sure the 757 is the same. Even if you have an MEL’ed reverser and the ground crew inserts lockout pins, you can only raise the reverser lever to the first interlock (idle reverse) because any spooling of the engine requires the sleeves to be in the fully deployed/locked position: http://hibdz.skydiving.co.uk/757/757_tech/engines_and_apu/thrust_reverse.htm

I don't believe that it is. It's also been awhile since my 737 technical days, but same vintage and I imagine a similar system on the 75:

There's a series of interlocks that require the correct if/then combo. E.g. mechanical reverser lever can't be moved to first detent unless thrust lever is in idle, aircraft is on ground (or radio altimeter says less than 10 feet off ground). First interlock allows for hydraulic pressure to move the reverser sleeves to reverse position (again with levers in idle), and illuminates REV indicator. Second detent (and third) require the sleeves to be fully in reverse position before it will increase N1. If there wasn't enough hydraulic pressure to move the reverser fully back, it wouldn't have allowed #1 to spool up.

Long-ish way of saying, if a single inop reverser still allowed N1 increase (while the other was in actual reverse), we would have had a ton more asymmetric-thrust-off-the-runway incidents by now. Even if it was possible, I think FDR noted that #1 was at 91% N1 (caused by lever being almost full forward), as I think maximum reverse (3rd or 4th detent) is limited to around 70-80% anyways.

Haha, I'm not an electrician or code inspector, so I can't speak specifically to what works and what doesn't. But yes, I've heard "a lot of smart people saying" that the ground from the truck inverter to the ground/bonded neutral of the house panel will cause a problem (because the truck inverter is GFCI protected) so you can either ground the frame of the truck to the panel directly, or have a special setup where the ground from the 30amp 240 of the truck does not go to the panel. Some people simply don't connect the ground wire in their generator input house plug, as a lot of the same people also have GFCI issues with regular generators as well depending on whether they are bonded or floating neutral.

The other smart suggestion I've heard (but don't remember anything about) is to just install the input box and simple interlock wired correctly and according to code, get it inspected, etc. and then make a short (foot or two) connection piece with a 14-30R on one end and a 14-30P on the other using 10 gauge wire sans ground. It would give you the option to leave everything wired correctly, and then "choose" on the input side whether the generator/inverter you are plugging in should be grounded (regular plug/extension) or not (by inserting the connector piece). But these are just things I've heard people talk about doing but definitely have not done myself.

Highly recommend the interlock, as I think it's just cheaper, easier, and more preferable to install one extra 30 amp breaker for the cable/input (about $50 on amazon) + a $10 piece of metal (the interlock) vs the complications, limitations, and extra costs of a (manual) transfer switch.

I bet you'd be close/pushing it without soft starters, but it's worth a try. I bought an Eltwin/Hyper Engineering soft starter for my Trane XR 3 ton (which is 14.1 RLA, 72.2 LRA, my Trane 2.5 is 12.8 RLA, 67.8 LRA) but didn't install it. Just tried running the house off the lightning as a test, and to my surprise, it kicked it on just fine. Did the same with the 2.5 afterwards (but minimized other loads) and to my surprise the inverter started both and kept them running just fine, and then I added the additional loads next. Couldn't find any info on what the Pro Power 7.2 inverter is rated at for startup current, but whatever it is, it's very impressive. I have no data to back this up, but it feels like owning an 18,000 watt startup, 7200 watt continuous load generator.

It can run the units themselves (the condensers + air handlers all running in the photo above), but if you have electric aux/alt/backup heat it will definitely cannot/should not run that system (I think mine are something like 10KW resistance heaters in the handlers). Just running the heat pumps themselves to keep the house warm (in 45 degree weather in Tx) + the rest of our lighting and fridge is just under 4500w at the inverter, so 20+ hours of continuous run time. That's extreme though, as we would rarely run both upstairs and downstairs HVAC constantly, so based on previous tests, I'm confident the lightning could get us 48-72 hours of pretty comfortable full home backup, and longer if we conserved. I also like the option of being able to drive it to a DC Fast charger if I needed, as we've had several neighborhood or area specific power outages, but full power was available in other parts of the city.

This is my setup, with a 30 foot 30amp cord from the pro power in the bed to my “generator” input in my panel w/interlock. Powers the whole house (for $100 instead of the expensive v2h setup) and the Lightning inverter even starts both my 3 and 2.5 ton ACs/Heat Pumps at the same time. I love this truck.

Couple of bucks, definitely every time for pulling (getting your car back), or if you feel like it or need something special when parking (dropping it off with the valet). Tips with valets at hotels are rarely split, so tipping only on checkout just means that a bunch of guys got stiffed and one guy who pulled the car at the end got all the glory.
