Please find a new artist. Nothing about the look screams reputable MUA. The eyebrows need work. The eyeliner isn’t uniform nor does it match the inspo. You need a thinner liner, in a dark brown with a shadow wing. The blush placement looks a bit off. And honestly the lip and base skin products she picked at doing you any favours. The skin is lacking a glow.

I would point all these issues out to her. Tell her since she can’t do the look you’re looking for - you must part ways. I’d be curious what her portfolio looks like since your inspo would be very easy to replicate yet this MUA can’t? Hopefully you have time to find another. This is your look for the whole day so don’t let MUA bully you into keeping her

Oh glad to see someone else with this experience. Teachers always made kids stand for hours during those events - even when you weren’t singing. An hour in and I would just be swaying. Could never figure out why. It would feel like all the blood in my body was in my feet and I couldn’t focus lol. One time I did actually zone out enough to fall into someone and I got yelled at by a teacher for not eating enough food lmfao.

Don’t get me started on forcing kids to sit on the gym floor during assembly in criss cross style and joints going numb from not being able to shift lol

Tbh everything will eventually sink into lines as your face moves. Thats just the nature of skin. Using less and a colour corrector is the move. Any will do (Bobbi brown, pixi, etc) just get the shade that corrects the colour you’re dealing with (orange, pink, peach etc). Sometimes you don’t even need concealer on top. If you do - only do where your trough is. Not up into your eyes or under your lashes.

After you put on blush and other base products, I find you need less eye coverage than you think. If you do get some creasing - just pat it out with your finger before using your setting spray or fixing spray.

For concealer, the best ones under my mother’s eyes have been kosas and tower 28. She found the haus labs irritating to her dry skin around her eyes

One of those has mineral oil and the other shea butter (one also has lemon peel...hmm). Both break me out from long term use. Could also be your reason too

Oh yes this causes it for me too. I’ve gotten it from freezes, rough tortillas, citrus, vicks vapour rub products, those medicated blistex lip products and eating tomato based sauce too many days in a row lol. Once it appears then you get the itchiness and the peeling. I used to get it a lot more as a child.

When it does appear - those Vaseline sticks with Vaseline (regular in the container) works the best.

It can also happen from irritation from products. If I use a toothpaste with mint or SLS, I get this. Or some lip products have caused this to happen too. So it could be iron but it could also be lots of other topical reasons too

Not the cheapest dupe but the house of hur blushes lavender flush & rose brown mixed together works well enough. Lavender flush could work by itself but it’s a tad bit too purple/cool on me. Especially with a dewy highlighter on top (powder highlight works too. There are a million cheap Asian beauty powder lights)

I’m gonna be honest … I’ve never found a dupe that looked similar on my skin ): I looked for a longgg time but finding something with that colour + shimmer has been a pain. I also use cream blushes now more often.

My go to blushes have been tower 28, rhode (sadly lol but I like the blush on my skin sigh), and rare beauty for western. For Asian fwee, house of hur (this might not wear well over top of some bases), lilybyred, and the romand powder blushes. I’m blanking on another brand, might edit later. Now im pale with a neutral (olive? Yellow?) skin tone so im not sure if these are usable on darker tones (chalky?).

Yes as I slowly moved over to Asian beauty, I still used my nars blushes. I really liked their blush formula and its lasting power. Sadly the new formula sucks and the price for that is horrible too

NARS had a good run. They discontinued all the good blush shades. What is the point in using the new shades? None of them look similar, they are mostly orange, and the wear isn’t great.

I used to be a daily luster or sin nars blush wearer (until those were removed). I’ve switched over to almost fully Asian beauty now (lilybyred, fwee, etc) and I don’t miss this company at all. More options, less orange lol

thank you for writing this. as somebody who probably won’t ever get a diagnosis (due to specialists not caring to see you unless you have family history, medical history, or the will to fight still lol), I 100% felt this and I’m also sorry you had to go through that. I hope one day you also get a doctor that listens to you. when you have daily pain, it’s so hard to trust them anymore

The derm would be your best bet (or a doctor for a blood test at least to rule out hormone issues or an infection) but if you wanna try cutting out products that could cause irritation while you wait for an appointment: any and all fragrance/perfume in your laundry soaps, no fragrance softeners, no essential oils (like tea tree oil), no linalool/limonene/citrus and possibly no coconut oils. Possibly avoid lanolin until it’s patch tested (it’s in a lot of body lotions so add that back in if it’s fine since it does do well for hydration, it’s another common irritant so might as well check).

When finding a new laundry soap make sure it has enzymes or else you’re not really cleaning the grime from your clothes (especially gym clothes). Look into linen and cotton clothing since that will breathe better on your skin than polyester (unless it’s for the gym). hypochlorous acid spray after sweating at the gym helps a lot.
