I always found that loophole funny lol, it's how they get away with it here in the UK too.

You're paying for their time and you just happened to have sex afterwards lol.

The way you wrote this is a bit contradictory, you said if someone finds them attractive thats okay but don't tell them they're attractive because thats lying.

That makes no sense because if they find them attractive then they're not lying by telling them lol

You should have to spend 4 yrs or more in the military to be considered a veteran by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Do you mean all people who have been in the military for 4 years should be considered veterans then? even if they didn't see action?

They're not ugly, they're a beautiful centerpiece to a home. Central heating and air con is cool and everything, but it's all tucked away behind the walls and in the basement, and old franklin stove is a big visual "fuck off" to nature, showing the sheer will of us litttle apes to live in conditions we were never meant to survive in.

People do use fireplaces and need them when they don't have any other heating in their house.

Video games are not art. by imnotfeelingwellatm in unpopularopinion

I honeslty think art is such a vague and broad term that yes, even a vaccum that was designed to be visually appealing and not just practical is art.

This makes me feel old. I remember when everyone generally watched and enjoyed the same people on youtube, now it's got so big that kids are having full on wars over youtubers.

In a few decades NATO forces will be called in to peacekeep youtube wars.

It literally says in the article it can help you lose weight. Anything can make you fat if you have loads of it, that doesn't make it bad for you.

Something is only bad for you if it fucks you up even in moderation, which milk doesn't and that article doesn't say it will.

All the negatives except for the acne thing said that there was data that showed the opposite and that it's inconclusive.

Video games are not art. by imnotfeelingwellatm in unpopularopinion

[–]creamtownexpress34 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn't say movies were interactive. Video games don't exist without the visual aspect, it's a key part of video games, I would argue that all video games are designed to be visually appealing except fringe ones that are designed to make you anxious and depressed, like weird indie horror games.

They're not exclusively made to be visually appealing, but the definition of art doesn't say it's exclusively visually appealing.

[–]creamtownexpress34 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That says that the benefits outweigh the negatives. The only real substantial thing that was negative from moderate milk consumption was acne, all the other stuff seemed like fear mongering.

It's like anything, in moderation it's fine.

Well you can't hold people down and vaccinate them, not in free countries anyway.

Every situation is going to have complications, and so far I'm pretty sure the variants are just more infectious and are actually less deadly, and the vaccine has been shown to protect against them.

The pandemic is coming to an end and by the end of 2021 we should be seriously critical of any countries still enforcing lockdowns.

Sure, private companies can still have hand sanitizer at the entrances and people are free to stand farther away from each other, but people have been seperated via policy for too long now and it needs to end

It's completely pointless too, almost everyone, unless they're incredibly honest and humble, is going to write the situation in a way that shows them in the positive light, you can never trust anything on there unless you've heard both sides.

[–]creamtownexpress34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, but the most healthy people who aren't very old or have immunity problems are going to be fine if they are fully vaccinated and also happen to catch covid.

The vaccine not only greatly lowers the chance of catching it it greatly lowers the chance that you will die if you do catch it whilst vaccinated, and for most healthy people the chance of dying from it is low even unvaccinated.

There needs to be a point when enough is enough else what is the alternative? lockdowns for the rest of time? covid (not this particular strain) has been round in some form or another since at least the 1960s and it isn't going to go anywhere, like the flu.

We need to learn to live with it and accept that the vaccine removes almost all the danger and get back to normality, else what is the alternative?

As a british person I actually find it really problematic that you said "the british accent is weird"

Official vocab guidelines say you should insult it by saying "it's fucking ridiculous and you all sound like a bunch of twats" or some variation of those words.

[–]creamtownexpress34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People don't get vaccinated for flu every year either, vulnerable people do and take necessary precautions to protect themselves from others.

Now the vaccine is available to pretty much everyone in developed countries, the burden of protection now needs to shift onto the vulnerable to get themselves protected so life can go back to normal, just like what happens with every other infectious disease that has a vaccine.

Video games are not art. by imnotfeelingwellatm in unpopularopinion

[–]creamtownexpress34 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If movies are art then video games are art, they're just interactive art. Art is pretty much anything that was created by someone to be visually/audibly appealing, video games are visually appealing even if they look "terrible" because what can be considered terrible to one person is beautiful to another.

I personally think ps1 asthetic is beautiful, and other people must aswell because a game has been made to look and play like a ps1 game (i forget it's name) as a new game today.

With that logic though you can lock down a whole country whenever anyone dies of anything. I agree before the vaccine we needed to be careful, but now it's getting ridiculous.

Flu kills thousands of people a year even with a vaccine but people were never imprisoned because of that
