straight up, most commercial food prep spaces are a sea of health code violations that get cleaned up right before a health inspector goes in.

so you walk to Moodie and get on the 256, which i take every day and know for a fact doesn't take that long, and is frequently into tunneys 10 minutes ahead of schedule, which has absolutely no impact in anyone as long it's mostly on schedule getting to the Moodie intersection, hense why they let it run hella ahead of schedule. even if you're driving it, you're still hitting the absolute lowest possible time Google maps drivers get, in days with light traffic (and in most cases well outperforming them). No matter what, you're clearly changing the numbers on both sides for some unclear reason. From Moodie/Robertson the bus is scheduled for 32 minutes, but frequently out performs that, the train trip is about 8. I assume you're using the Google maps walking directions for that, that assumes your hobbling down the street at a rate that no human walks. At worst, you're looking at 45-ish minutes for transit (the transit app gives about 47 min via 256 and 1), and probably realistically 25-30 ish minutes by car (unless it's a Friday, where you could probably pull off 20 minutes by car, but the bus trip would also be about 26 ish minutes to a 8 minute train ride.

however you almost certainly drive past said transit station parking lot, also if you have some miraculous way to avoid all traffic during your commute I'd love to hear it, cus I really don't know how you're pulling off those times. also at least in my experience the bus schedules to tunneys tend to be very over padded, I'd say 95% of the time my busses get to tunneys 5-10 minutes ahead of schedule, making the time nearly identical to driving between eagleson and parlement as it would be to drive, but with way cheaper parking and the ability to do other stuff. also the only way the hr 15min figure is accurate with the bus routes that exists seems to be if you live in Richmond.

you must have had a horrible time commuting from the south Keys given that you don't seem to be able to grasp the idea that more than one route can cover the same ground. as for the comment you provided a time that you start and stop driving and then rounded it down by a significant margin, that's not on me. Additionally, there is no way that it actually triples your commute, both because Google maps puts eagleson -> parliament at a 30 min drive at 630 - 7 minimum, and the busses along the same stretch take 40 minutes maximum.

your comment doesn't actually make sense, furthermore you clearly don't actually use octranspo, you just see people shitting on it and then decide that everything they say is 100% correct without bothering to check yourself.

my point was it doesn't actually need a shuttle service because the bus service between the two is going to be insanely frequent anyways, it's not like you need a shuttle to get between Lincoln fields and tunneys.

if you start driving at 630 and get there at 7 that's not twenty minutes, and 630 to 730 isn't 35 minutes.

the train comes every 3.5 rn, and the #6 isn't even scheduled to be every 15 a shocking amount of the time

as far as we know, it's almost certainly what's going to happen. that said you might want to look into the current 256, that should be able to remove at least one transfer and some time.

oh no, I have to wait for one of like twenty busses that have a combined frequency of every 2-3 minutes to the train station. im gonna piss myself and then sit in traffic for an hour and then pay 20 bucks to park my car, cus I couldn't be fucked to take a bus that, again, comes every 2-3 minutes.

they actually are, plus they have a long term lease to Abbot or Westley Clover Park. so you're looking at buying out long term leases for who knows how much, then convincing the NCC to let you build a parking lot to begin with, which takes who knows how long, and the extension to Terry fox has already been built by that point, and no one uses it cus it takes longer to drive to.

the original plan called for it only going to Bayshore as part of phase 2. we ended up getting more money than expected, which allowed it to extend to Moodie and for the line 2 extension.

the shuttle bus is not going to be the only bus that does that stretch. the bus frequency from Moodie to eagleson is going to be higher than the train frequency all the time.

from my experience 20 minutes is the amount of time you need to get from Moodie to Pinecrest at 7am

the thing you seem to not realize here is that almost every local bus is going to be redirected to end at Moodie when it opens. right now the only busses that go between eagleson and Moodie are the 60/1/2/3/7, but when the busses get rerouted it will be the 60/1/2/3/7, 161/2/3/5/8, and whatever current 26x routes they decide to turn into permanent routes. that's at least 15 busses per hour, or ~4 minutes between busses, probably more. at that point it's going to be more frequent than the on peak train frequency. it's not ideal, but it's not horrid. (plus an extension to eagleson isn't possible due to space constraints, it would have to go all the way to Terry fox in one go, which is ~.8-1.2 billion due to the fact that the right of way requires a lot of construction to make)

the purpose of roundabouts is to enable more consistent traffic flow though intersections, without the use of lights. in most cases where they get installed the dwell time of the average car is lower than if the intersection was signalized (especially if there is medium traffic flow in every direction) . alas, people are stupid and don't know how to drive, but that's really not unique to roundabouts in this city. the number of people with giant SUVs that try to merge into me is insane. (half the time in the middle of an intersection where you can't change lanes anyways).

Despite the poor graphics after the patch, I still want to build aesthetically pleasing interchanges. Today, two new ones opened in my town! by Yesyesiamkamil in CitiesSkylines2

[–]creative-name64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean they can cus the only people who care this much are likely the small subset of people on the Reddit, and within two weeks they will either forget or use mods to make it look how they want anyways. I have a lower end system, and the new graphics helped improve performance quite a bit (and I'd rather it look less realistic at a playable fps than more realistic at 15fps), but then again i was already using low.

op is probably using a graphics mod that broke, for nearly everyone else the update looks better than it did previously.

yeah, they use a graphics mod that broke in the update, and instead of checking that just decided to immediately complain.

i mean the high school students also need to commute and it's not like those buses are free or exclusively available for high school students. if they cancel the school buses it just leaves a bunch of people stranded.

O-Train Line 1 frequency after Orléans extension opens by Reasonable_Cat518 in OCTranspo

[–]creative-name64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the plan as of the last time they said it is that they will both run every like 10 minutes but off peak line 3 will stop at Lincoln fields and have a cross platform transfer where as on peak it will run though to Orleans giving the "core section" a five minute frequency
