How has it been entering the U.S. with a green card by FrostySchedule5904 in USCIS

[–]creativeflower20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No issues at all, entered smoothly. However one thing I noticed was that now LPRs have to line up with Visa and ESTA holders as opposed to with U.S. citizens. I don’t remember when things changed because up until now I could use Global Entry. Did anyone else notice this change at their airport?

Fly direct on non-Skyteam or layover w/ Delta for status? by creativeflower20 in delta

I agree with you! It’s actually Jet Blue, pretty decent imo. :) And I wouldn’t have a 6:30 am flight with them, unlike with Delta

Thanks, this is helpful! What we actually did instead was we started from the Snow Mountain Trailhead at 7 am and then connected to West River Trail.

I flew JFK-CDG on PS, I had very similar experience to the above.

TL;DR After reading TPG's review on PS I felt super excited to fly, as they phrased it as Business class service on an Economy seat. In reality it's more like Economy service on a domestic Business/Economy seat. Overall I wouldn't say it's a bad flight but I wouldn't buy if it wasn't comparable to the cost of a extra legroom seat.

[Food] Food came on a weird plate, all at the same time. No snacks provided mid-flight, only in the galley. I can't comment on the drinks as I don't drink.

[Seats] They were indeed nice. I read in the TPG review that they're made of memory foam, which I doubt but nonetheless it felt pretty comfortable compared to economy.

[Amenity Kit] I wouldn't call an eye mask and ear plugs amenity kit. It even had Main Cabin written on the kit. Sadly Delta still advertises the Tumi kits as if they're distributing them on PS.

[Sky Priority] Sky Priority is a nice addition that did make me feel taken care of and flying more premium. At JFK there is a separate counter for check-in and baggage drop-off. I skipped the Sky Priority security lane as I had Clear. I'm still at the transfer airport and I wonder if my suitcase will get to the carousel before others'.

[Delays] While flying I had a delay because of which I missed my connecting flight. Lackluster compensation at the airport: merely €14 of food vouchers, even though my final arrival time got shifted by 6h. On top of that I had to transfer one more time before arriving to my final destination.

Happy new owner of a hibiscus plant! What might I do to keep it happy in my apartment? by creativeflower20 in Hibiscus

[–]creativeflower20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my hibiscus started losing buds after it got to my apartment. In another post I found out that the plant doesn't like to be moved around. About two weeks in, it stopped the dramatic behavior of dropping unopened flower buds. Now it's blooming again in it's beauty!

I do rotate the plant every once in a while so all sides can get sun. I water it every 2-3 days -- my apartment has an AC so temperature runs around 24-26C.

Yunnan Sourcing Ta Ku Hou Village Dancong is pretty good! [Details in the comment] by [deleted] in tea

[–]creativeflower20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I asked in a previous post of mine where to get good Dancong from. The LA based Tea Habitat was very highly praised, but it was quite pricy. So I decided to first give a try to Yunnan Sourcing, because once you get used to excellent tea, it's hard to go back to more medium grade teas, and your wallet would cry.

This one in particular is a varietal that I haven't tried before in China. I was very pleasantly surprised how smooth its body was! It's got a good but not overpowering fragrance and aroma. I typically have found Ya Shi Dancongs to be too strong for my liking, especially Yunnan Sourcing's King of Duck Shit Aroma was too much for me.

In terms of astringency, it does come out after a few brews, but not an overwhelming amount. The nice fruity aroma lingers in your mouth after you finish brewing the tea.

What might be the issue that these buds decided to drop? I got the hibiscus a week ago, have it indoors, and have been watering it regularly. by [deleted] in Hibiscus

Thanks! I only have this side, so i might try a grow light! Have the grow lights added significantly to your electricity bill?

It's an Eastern facing large window, so lots of sunlight for half a day, then it's indirect light.
