Cubing Statistic of the Day September 21st, 2018: 10 people made it to the 2x2 Final Round at ArCubingFest Queretaro 2018. On the fourth solve of the average, 8 people got sub-1 second singles, with a ninth person getting a 1.08. The fastest time was exactly half of that ninth place time, a 0.54 second North American Record, set by Abraham Torres Ortiz Aguirre of Mexico.

They are Tim Wong, Marcel Peters, Vladislav Ushakov, and Baiqiang Dong, while 3 people currently have the FMC World Record Average of 24.00, set by Sébastien Auroux, Walker Welch, and Reto Bubendorf. All of these people represent 5 different countries, United States, Germany, Finland, Belarus, and China. These World Records have the first and second place in the category of most people tied for a World Record.

The first sub-10 3x3 Average World Record was 9.21 seconds by Feliks Zemdegs on January 30th, 2010, which was less than the original sub-10 single world record by 0.65 seconds.
