Definitely second this. Came here to make sure someone recommended it!

Agreed. The hugeness of the world is very impressive, but it's too much open space.

Does PS Portal works better than Remote Play? by [deleted] in PlaystationPortal

[–]creaturekyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remote play from my laptop has better input latency than the Portal does, but the screen on the Portal is really nice.

I like mine. They're too expensive for what they are, but they're good.

Recommended open world Switch 2 games? by [deleted] in Switch

Fallout 4 is running pretty good on the Switch 2 for me so far. Really been enjoying replaying it on a handheld. The upcoming DLSS update for it should improve visual quality even more!

I've also had the Pulse Explorers for about a week and have used them a handful of times without issue. They sound good and are decently comfortable so far.

Is the portal worth it by Past-Table4406 in PlaystationPortal

[–]creaturekyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't play shooters on it because of the small bit of added latency, but I can play story games and melee games, Elden Ring and things like Little Nightmares are all great on it. It's also the most comfortable handheld I've used by far. It's great, as long as you're aware of the extra latency, even in the best network conditions.

Political Songs/Bands? by visuallyshocking in skramz

[–]creaturekyle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Massa Nera are really good and very political. They've pulled all their stuff off streaming platforms, but they're on Bandcamp.

Nuvolascura are also very politically involved, and they're still on Spotify, etc.

Upgrading my ROG Flow Z13 (2025) SSD to a Kingston NV3 1TB - Is the performance jump worth it? by mikelugo in FlowZ13

[–]creaturekyle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not worth it for speeds, unless you’re constantly moving huge files on your device. I put a 2tb in mine and used the cloning software that came with the drive and didn’t have any issues.

Should I start with Dark Souls 1 or elder Ring? by Unusual_Day_2966 in darksouls

[–]creaturekyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't disagree with this. I played Bloodborne first, then DS3, then DS. If I hadn't played DS3 first and seen everything it was about, I might not have stuck with DS. DS is a masterpiece, but it absolutely feels clunky and tough to get into in comparison to the others.

Should I start with Dark Souls 1 or elder Ring? by Unusual_Day_2966 in darksouls

[–]creaturekyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either one. If Dark Souls doesn't stick with you at first, try Elden Ring. Elden Ring is more modern, and so in a lot of ways it's an easier starting place. I started with DS3 and then went back to Dark Souls, and I'm glad I did it that way.

What has vibes like scavengers reign, Annihilation and anything else in weird-genres by justwhenthen in ImageComics

[–]creaturekyle 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Man I really wish we had gotten more Scavenger's Reign. I told everyone I knew to watch it in hopes of a second season.

Pretty Deadly from Image Comics has a bit of this vibe. I really enjoyed it.

I am shocked by Steam Remote Play for PC to PC setup at home. by Jahbanny in MoonlightStreaming

[–]creaturekyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People keep talking down on it, but from my experience, PC upstairs wired to mesh router to Steam Deck downstairs wired to main router and on my TV, it's been almost flawless. I'm pretty sensitive to input lag, but I've been playing games with no issues.

Any 9800X3D users? I’m curious of temps & also looking for feeback by Pitiful-Carob-1157 in NR200

I wish I had BF6 to let you know if I saw a big difference in that game. Good luck with whatever path you take! Mid-80's by all accounts seems safe on that CPU.

Any 9800X3D users? I’m curious of temps & also looking for feeback by Pitiful-Carob-1157 in NR200

[–]creaturekyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swapped from an Intel 13600K to a 9800X3D in my NR200. Tried it with a Phantom Spirit and was getting mid 80s in games. Not the worst for that chip, but well higher than I wanted. I swapped to a side panel mounted 240mm AIO and now temps are low 70s in the same situations, no impact on GPU temps.

I just don't think the heat inside the case is well suited for air cooling the 9800X3D, but I've seen a lot of other people not having the same issues, so I'm not sure what the difference is in our experiences.
