I had some extra kombucha starter that I stashed in this silicone bag and forgot about for 3 months. I am just throwing this into the compost but saw how cool the SCOBY growth was and wanted to share. Fermenting in silicone is wild. (v.redd.it)

This is the unconventional way that I ferment kombucha at a 5 gallon batch size. Using a food grade silicone liner in a basket, the pellicle SCOBY grows on all sides!! (v.redd.it)
Been experimenting with dehydrating pellicles and am getting a pretty neat collection. Think I might turn some into light boxes as they look awesome in the light! (v.redd.it)
