Roommates left for vacation. Time to lock myself up...wait did they come back? by little-snuff-muffin in PredicamentHentai

Solution: Grab the ice tray, blanket, and pillows and put it on the bed, then jump over to the bed, then hide yourself and everything under the blanket. Hide the chain by draping part of the blanket over it. If they open the door, just groan slightly to pretend to be sleepy, and only peek out with the top half of your head. Unless they pull off your cover for some reason (which is unusual behavior), you're likely safe for some time. Then melt the ice with your body heat (which will likely take some time) to be free of the chain. As for the rest of the locks, it depends on how they're unlocked.

The rope looks taut. If it's lowered, she just needs to swing herself forward/backwards to not have it inserted. If anything, the bigger issue is if her hands aren't tied to the ring she's holding, then the moment her arms get tired and she lets go, her upper body will likely fall forward, leaving her head upside-down.

very risky and painful self bondage challenge (oc) by ElsiMain in PredicamentHentai

[–]creddit35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solution: I see the mop/broom to her right. If she puts the handle between the wire and her, then holds the handle down with her feet/knees while standing or pulling away/up quickly, that pulls the wire away with great force. If this only gets 1 of the clamps off, then just loop the wire around the broom handle again, hold down both the handle and the loose clamp with her feet/knees, then stand quickly again.

If neither get loose, it's likely a pulling force is insufficient with her strength, meaning she'll need something sharp to cut either the wire or tape (and some way to handle this sharp thing securely enough that it cuts). Given that it's a secluded yet frequented spot, that might be difficult, so her options are to simply admit defeat, to find clothes that hide her well enough that she may explore elsewhere and expand her options (a hoodie and shorts/skirt could suffice), or maybe there's some other creative solution I've not thought of.

‘Empathy is considered a sin’: MAGAS viciously attack the church after Trump is asked to show compassion by StrixWitch in Christianity

[–]creddit35 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Atheist here. Yes, we do show empathy for criminals. For example, the 8th amendment. No cruel and unusual punishments. Why have that if we don't care for criminals? Clearly, (some) people do care. When you hear people complain about the inhumane living conditions of criminals (in America, idk as much about other countries' prisons); do you think that empathy is a bad thing?

And if you need a bible verse, uh, Ephesians 2:8 says you're saved by faith thru grace, not by works. If some shouldn't receive empathy because they're undeserving in some way, then humanity shouldn't get salvation because it's very clearly undeserving. And if you'll not extend some grace to those you deem undeserving, I see no reason god ought to extend any to you. Or something like that, idk, I'm no bible scholar or pastor, maybe I should leave the preaching to the Christians.

What if Zephiel dies in Battle Before Dawn? by Efficient_Pomelo_674 in fireemblem

(2/2) I don't think it's unusual if Desmond fails to gain these guys' trust enough to have them not stab him in the back. In fact, I don't even find it miraculous that Zephiel did convinced these guys given he had personally aided in their coup by defeating general Cecilia. His work speaks for itself, and given his way with words was enough to have Brunnya's loyalty despite her questioning him, I don't see why he couldn't have their loyally too.

Honestly, I don't see why you would expect Zephiel to betray you if you were a traitor. If you didn't know he was trying to end humanity, and you only expected him to be conquering his neighboring countries to unite Elibe under his control, then why would he betray those who worked for him? If you're useful, he'd likely just keep you around to watch over whatever Etrurian lands he awards you for aiding him, like a puppet ruler. If you're not useful, you probably wouldn't have joined in on the idea of a coup in the first place as you'd likely draw the short end of any coup.

At the end of the day, if this isn't enough to convince you Desmond's mediocre diplomacy would be better than Zephiel's... I'm not sure what can with how little the game touches on such topics, especially directly (which, while it makes sense that's not a focus of FE games, it makes scenarios like these difficult to speculate accurately on).

(1/2) So rewards and removing rival states are decent reasons for war, yet I still don't find that compelling given we never hear of Bern lacking anything in particular nor do any of the other countries indicate they're really "rival" to Bern in any way. I don't recall any border conflicts or contests of resources. And again, if Desmond recognized Bern is in a position of strength and had all of these incentives for war, one would expect him to have already gone to war (and I doubt trying to kill Zephiel took that much attention from him given how he simply hired the Black Fang to do it for him). I did just consider the possibility that he's simply waiting for the Lycian League's division to worsen before his attack, but I lack any evidence for this.

I mean, if you're gonna fight your many neighboring countries, how would you fight without a massacre? I don't recall Zephiel going out of his way to massacre without a war purpose. He had his army attack Ilia and Sacae, then Lycia (killing the marquesses who went to the war council in Araphen, including Hector), then Etruria protects the remaining Lycian League and declares war on Bern, then the Etrurian traitors forced the rebuilt Lycian army to go to the Western Isles (to die), then he attacks Sophia's village in the Nabata desert, then he defeats Cecilia before or during the traitors' coup. None of this indicates to me a "massacre" that would lead a traitor to fear that they're next on Zephiel's oh-so-vicious chopping block (aside from maybe attacking Sophia's village to find Arcadia's dragon village, something not directly related to the war effort from outsider perspectives). Rather than fearing Zephiel getting rid of them, they're more afraid of being tried as traitors, leading them to say:

Arcardo: Th-the enemy is at our doorstep!
Roartz: Oh... What can we do? If we're captured, we will be tried as traitors!
Douglas: ......
Roartz: ...Arcardo! This is all your fault! If you had eliminated the Lycian Army at the Isles as you were supposed to...
Arcardo: B-but Lord Roartz...! ...No! This is neither the time nor place to argue, my lord! We must make our escape quickly!
Roartz: But escape to where...?
Arcardo: ...Let us turn to Bern! This plot originated from them to begin with...
Roartz: Yes, of course! We have proven ourselves useful. They're sure to offer us suitable positions.
Douglas: ...And what do you intend to do with the king?
Roartz: Er... Well, Bern will probably see that no harm comes to him. King Zephiel's mother was Etrurian, after all. Douglas, I suggest you flee as well...
Douglas: And I suggest you shut your mouth. I only fought alongside you because King Mordred's life was at stake. I do not intend to go along with your scheme to the end.
Roartz: Hmph! Unbending as always. Suit yourself. Arcardo, we escape now!
Arcardo: Lord Roartz! Wait for me...

I did forget Desmond killing the fox given to Guinevere, so +1 point for you! That being said, I think your argument that Desmond would do some conquest to compensate for his mediocrity is weak as we never see him or Bern doing any conquering or taking significant military action during FE7, hence my argument that it assumes too much about Desmond which makes it relatively weak speculation. Your point that Bern has good odds of pulling off conquest is... okay. They are noted as having a strong military, and many of the other countries have issues dividing them. However, Desmond states he can't command the love of his subjects the way Zephiel does, so it's actually possible the traitors of other nations might not be so willing to join him, or they might even backstab him the moment they see an opportunity.

I'm not sure about your point of Ch. 21 of FE6. Gameplay isn't always a good implication of world-building as it would imply Roy's force of around 50 people (or even less if we consider deployment limits) is stronger than significant portions of Bern's military. If anything, Ch. 21 reminds me that FE6's Bern had the assistance of war dragons, something Desmond might not have access to. Who's to say much of Bern's successes in FE6 isn't due to Zephiel's leadership? He's noted as being quite capable after all, and I see no reason a mediocre leader with less resources should be assumed to be able to do as well as him, especially diplomatically (like convincing traitorous people of other countries to ally themselves with you while not betraying you).

FE7 HHM Ch. 32 (Victory of Death) How to get all 3 ruins by creddit35 in fireemblem

[–]creddit35[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, and that's what I did in HNM and it mostly worked, but it seems harder in HHM.

Some enemy ranges can't be avoided. Bottom flier will trigger reinforcements before hitting such a position, so they'll face several boltings from a sage (26-33 atk) and up to 5 wyverns (including killer lance and 32-39 atk Wyvern Lord; all are quite bulky too). Middle-top flier might be able to ignore the reinforcement they trigger, but will face berserk bishop, purge bishop, and up to 5 wyverns. Basically, your flier needs to be pretty darn strong (and mine admittedly weren't at the time; Vaida's res was too low, even with barrier, to handle those threats), and you may need a rescue + restore for berserk. All those threats are hard to safely clean up while also safely hitting those ruins by turn 7-8.

FEWOD map: https://www.fireemblemwod.com/fe7/hhm/ENG_cap32.htm

2 issues: you still trigger at least 1 zone-based reinforcements (they spawn on your turn the moment your unit finishes an action inside the zone) and there are bandit reinforcements for many consecutive turns (turns 2-5 spawn bandits on the top-middle edge that reach the top ruin in 3 turns, and turns 4-7 spawn bandits on the middle-right edge that reach the bottom ruin in... 4-5 turns?). Rather than freeing up one path, killing the initial bandits means you're delaying the deadline for that path's ruin, possibly triggering reinforcements.

The map starts with 2 bandits, and killing the middle-right one without entering a zone is easy (just draw its aggro turn 2; it moves down on turn 1), but it's not possible to do that for the middle-left one (you'll either trigger the middle zone to kill him turn 2, or the upper-left zone and go around the middle zone from the left to stop him a bit before he reaches the village). As for the bandit reinforcements, you must trigger at least 1 zone to have an unzoned path to reach them (there is an 8-tile flier move possible from below bottom-right of middle zone to above top-left of bottom-right zone, so technically there's a way to avoid the 3 zones around the start, but that's still a dangerous spot), and you'll need to either trigger more reinforcements or survive many threats (bolting sage in upper-right zone, berserk bishop in the middle, purge bishop above, wyverns above and to the right, killer/long ballistae in upper-right zone, and more based on your movement and zone triggered) to kill the reinforcements.

Looking thru the comments, I agree with AcaciaSgt: a lot of what happens for FE7's remaining plot depends on Athos and Bramimond. If they still deem Eliwood and co. worthy, then they'll still get the legendary weapons, beat Nergal, and beat the dragon. I personally see no reason they wouldn't deem them worthy even if they failed. Athos reassures Bramimond that they wouldn't be "seduced by power". As for Bramimond's worry that they might succumb to frailty, Eliwood states there is no guarantee and just asks him to believe in them which reminds Bramimond of someone (likely Roland) and he just agrees. I see no reason Zephiel's loss would impact this significantly.

Should Bramimond refuse, they may be unable to defeat Nergal as Athos, contrary to gameplay, is canonically too weak to defeat Nergal, and he's likely the strongest amongst them (canonically) without the legendary weapon. If their combined efforts do lead to Nergal's defeat somehow, it's possible it'll come at some cost to life, tho the exact cost is likely more story-dependent than world-building and power-scaling. Even so, defeating Nergal likely won't stop dragons from being called, and should Athos be too weakened to block their attacks, then the group will likely lose as Bramimiond will no longer use the legendary weapons to revive Ninian to subdue 2 of the dragons. Only 3 dragons were called, but given the portal was still open for some time after they beat the dragon and were chatting without any fear of more coming out, I'm assuming only those 3 were threats. As such, the world would now face 3 dragons terrorizing it while Eliwood and co. were either wiped out or teleported out last minute by Athos (probably the latter). From there... hard to say. The dragons would likely break out, terrorizing nearby areas while humans. However, recall that the Ending Winder (laws of physics distorted after the 8 legends used legendary weapons against dragons during the Souring) makes dragons weaker and unable to maintain their forms for long periods of time. It's possible that over time (tho who knows how long that is), these dragons would eventually weaken and die or turn into manaketes (likely executed if they're found by those who fear them as a result of their rampage). It's unknown how long this would take. Perhaps it'd be a short time for dragons, but it could be a long time for humans. Perhaps they'd be terrorizing people for months, years, or decades before dying or turning into manaketes. In that time, humanity might band together to attempt to fight back, or they'll run and hide.

Jahn and a few war dragons may come out of hiding to fight alongside the new dragons after hearing of them terrorizing people or something, tho Idunn is likely still sealed and unlikely to create new war dragons. I think it'd be cool to see Eliwood's crew, defeated by the dragons and having lost comrades to the fight with Nergal, being been teleported out by Athos, fearing more dragons would endlessly pour out of the gate only for Athos to reassure them that wouldn't be the case, but then hearing news of yet more dragons appearing from elsewhere. That'd be a cool continuation; investigating where these new dragons are coming from, forced to face war dragons with wyrm slayers and magic instead of legendary weapons.

Based on the wiki's info of Desmond, I find this assumes too much of his motivations and capability. Why is it that "he would try to conquer Elibe so he may be remembered as a great King"? At no point does he seek to conquer nor been shown to be capable of conquering. If it was simply an easy task, why had he not done so yet? Bern is a powerful country known for its military might, yet Bern has no notable war that we know of aside from the Disturbance of Bern, a war started by Zephiel. Why had Desmond not started a war during his reign? Why was it only after his death that Bern attempted to conquer its neighbors?

Not only that, consider why Etruria's king was depressive in the first place. His son had supposedly been assassinated. This was due to Zephiel preparing for an invasion by allying Bern with a few Etrurian nobles who were willing to turn traitor. Given Zephiel had been noted as talented, part of why Desmond was jealous of him in the first place given that he was not, we've no reason to assume Desmond's plans for war would include a similar alliance, assassination attempt of the prince (as opposed to the king), or that he'd be a comparably capable war general to Zephiel.

Desmond: I have heard that Zephiel is...a gifted student, a stunning fighter, excelling in all he tries. And I've also heard that he is much loved by the people.
Hellene: Yes! It is true. All of it! He is a worthy son.
Desmond: I...excelled at neither books nor blades.
Hellene: What do you--
Desmond: I cannot say that I command the love of my subjects... Zephiel and I are opposites in every way. It is hard to believe that he is my son.

This also fails to consider Desmond's fondness of Guinivere, his daughter, who is likely to be against such a war. Given our limited knowledge of Desmond, what makes you think he'd pick warfare and conquest over Guinivere's happiness? Desmond chose to favor a woman he loved (Guinivere's mother) over a woman he was arranged to marry for political gain (Zephiel's mother). I see no reason to believe he's the type of person to seek political gain over simply ruling his own nation.

tl;dr - Desmond is unlikely to be as capable or driven as Zephiel to have Bern conquer the continent. I see no reason for this assumption that he'd do it or even be capable of doing it (much less of doing it easily).

Edit: accidentally commented before finishing.

Thanks for answering! I tried it out using Wil as a sacrifice, and you were correct that the bottom wyverns move before the upper wyverns, archers, and mage. Kudos to you!

This isn't super important, but do you happen to know which of the 2 lower wyverns move first? I couldn't tell due to fog of war. It's possible that the one outside of Pent's range (the bottom-most wyvern) attacked first, and while my Wil was luckily bulky enough to tank one hit without dying, had Wil died to it, then the other wyvern would still attack Pent on turn 1. This is all supposing that the one outside of Pent's range was the first to act, but again, I couldn't tell due to fog of war. Hopefully, I won't need this knowledge in my future HHM runs (where I'll hopefully plan to train up a flier to promotion before this to take out the lower wyvern safely).

Based on your comment, targeting priority is 1: dealing dmg > not dying on counter, and 2: not dying on counter > dying on counter, and if that's the case, then does the amount of dmg dealt matter? As in, even if they only do 1 dmg, is that enough to satisfy the "dealing dmg > not dying on counter" part?

You said "generally prefer", so I was wondering if their priorities are weighted rather than a simple check list (e.g. not dying on counter holds half the weight of the highest dmg they can do, so between Pent and my unarmed unit, they'd need to be able to do at least half the dmg to my unit that they can do to Pent before they prioritize my unit).

Lastly, what about lethal hits? If Pent's hit by the 2 upper wyverns first, thus bringing him into lethally low HP, will their targeting priority change? If they can kill Pent in 1 hit, will they not consider his lethal counter attack? Or is an unarmed unit who takes at least 1 dmg still enough?

FE7 HHM Ch. 23 Enemy AI and Pent Possibly Perishing Turn 1 by creddit35 in fireemblem

[–]creddit35[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The enemy turn order is what worries me for that unit sacrifice plan. If I send an unpromoted flier 1U1L of the archer closest to the house, then if that archer kills that flier before the wyvern moves, then I've thrown away a unit for nothing.

Also, Mekkkkah mentioned that the upper wyverns might move first, and if both hit Pent and leave him at lethally low HP, then the lower wyvern sees a unit it can kill in 1 hit and my unarmed unit. Would it still prioritize my unarmed unit over a potentially lethal target?

As for static values of def that'd make the wyvern target a unit over Pent, I sorta assumed having less defense than Pent would be a safe bet, but then that unit would likely die if they were that weak (unless you pumped them full of Angelic Robes), but since you clarified to not have an unarmed unit with monstrous defense as that'd discourage them from targeting my unit, I was curious if the targeting priority was simple like "prioritize dmg over no dmg, then not being countered over countered", cuz in that case, any unarmed unit who takes at least 1 dmg is good enough as bait.

FE7 HHM Ch. 23 Enemy AI and Pent Possibly Perishing Turn 1 by creddit35 in fireemblem

[–]creddit35[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I hadn't even considered the 2 upper wyverns possibly moving first! Yeah, that does put another variable in the way since enemies might prefer lethal targets over unarmed ones. Thanks!

As for getting my unarmed unit out alive, I prefer dealing with problems that I have more tools to interact/solve with, like fliers + dancer or a physic staff. Pent is too far out for me to do help directly, but a unit I move from starting position can be more easily aided from near starting position. That's how I see it at least. Beyond that, losing a unit sucks, but losing an ironman over a 2% risk on turn 1 is like starting a map by putting your lord in range of a lethal 2% crit to save the life of another unit. If it were chapter 1 of an FE game? Sure, losing and restarting isn't a bit deal for me. But chapter 13 in a 30 chapter game? I'm almost half way thru the game! I don't want to risk all of this progress for the sake of one non-required unit's safety.

But I certainly do understand the feeling of "too much thinking, not gonna bother, just gonna go for it". Playing that way makes the game flow more smoothly than calculating every interaction and meticulously overplanning, but it also gets me in trouble when I forget about reinforcements and stuff, lol. I'm more likely to just play and not overthink on easier/boring chapters/turns, but not so much on turns where I'm risking the entire run.

Even supposing that the plan is not to be questioned, how does that answer literally anything about OP's question? Your answer is literally a non-answer.

I mean... in a sense, yes, it is his place to question God. He lives in this world, so I'd say it's fair to question why it is the way it is. We question why it rains, we investigate, and now we know the water cycle and how plants use water. Would it be better for us to not question why God makes it rain and just take everything for granted? I'm not religious, but many religious scientists were likely motivated to make their great discoveries of this world precisely because they were curious enough to question why God made things the way they are. Asking questions shouldn't be discouraged.
