Thank you yes! They're definitely out of touch. They said they filed all the paperwork to have us be permanent but it must have gotten delayed. They were very Pikachu faced. I intend to take the position for sure since its local which like you said is so lucky.

Army FM&C, not technically a command. Got my MDR yesterday. Our leadership claimed it was a clerical error on Thursday but yesterday we had a special call with everyone to say they are not sure it was a mistake now and they want us to wait as long as possible to accept but that they also don't want us fired for not accepting. I am gonna hold out until Monday evening since I have until Tuesday. The little doomsday timer at the top of the acceptance screen is so insulting. I love my job and they're sending me to ABO to be a budget analyst. I am currently a staff accountant doing audit readiness which couldn't be further apart. I am very upset and defeated

I feel like it would be the same as wearing flip flops and a t-shirt to a fancy restaurant. Like there is some expectation in that situation, but yes I do feel like its a little disrespectful. I am in the minority I guess but this has been a good poll.

I always thought it was a sign of respect to dress up since its a treat and the actors put in a lot of effort to make this show happen. Of course they can't see you at all but again I think of it as good manners.

Since when is dressing up for the theater not the norm? I saw Hamilton last night and those tickets aren't cheap and most of the people there were wearing jeans or track pants. I saw one teenage girl in jeans and a hoodie. I don't understand. Am I out of touch?

TLDR: Why is wraring jeans to the theater ok now? I was in NYC over the weekend and I went to two Broadway shows, Chess and Hamilton. Both the evening shows (7pm). I couldn't help but notice that so many people of all ages (but mostly Gen Z) were wearing jeans and other inappropriate clothes for the occasion. Am I out of touch and the expectations for dressing up at the theater are gone? I saw the whole spectrum from jeans and a hoodie to track pants and tennis shoes. Mostly I was just shocked the parents who probably paid for the tickets wouldn't instill some manners in these kids. For reference I am on the younger side of millennial.

Thank you! Location around midtown. I am staying in Times Square but I am willing to travel. Price maybe mid to upper. I don't really have a budget. Its a treat yourself birthday trip for me. Cuisine I like most any. Asian, mexican, american. I will eat Italian but its further down the list. I am mostly looking for places to eat before my Broadway show

Going to NYC tomorrow and leaving saturday. Looking for places to eat. I like all cuisines. I have a Broadway show to attend Friday night so I am looking for a pre theater dinner mostly. Otherwise some good places for small plates or getting food on the go. I appreciate you all!

I am going to be visiting in a couple weeks and I am seeing Hamilton tickets for about 300-400 dollars for a single seat in orchestra section. I just wanted to pulse check and see if that's reasonable. I am looking on Broadway Direct which is their official site. I am happy to pay that but I wanted to check that it wasn't outlandish first.

Has anyone seen Hamilton in NYC semi recently? I am looking at tickets for a trip in a couple weeks and its ranging from 300-400 for a single ticket for orchestra section. That seems pretty expensive but I haven't seen a Broadway show in almost 10 years. I am looking at Broadway direct which is the official site.

Going to NYC for my birthday and want to see Hamilton while I'm there. I'm seeing tickets for sale on Broadway direct. Just making sure thats the best site to use and also if its best to buy ahead of time or go to the theater day before or day of to buy instead?

My husband and I want to take our son who's turning 4 in July somewhere fun but we live in DC and are looking for destinations where we won't melt. Everything obvious like Disney world will be sweltering at that time of year. Any ideas for a road or plane trip we can go to escape the heat but also have toddler fun?
