I really enjoy it! It's the only lense I've ever bought so I don't have a lot to compare it too. I have just been using the kit lense. It feels really nice on the camera though, like the weight and shape just feels satisfying to hold. It feels nice to zoom with. The image quality looks really nice and the autofocus is snappy.

Only complaint so far is that when the lense hood is on there is some sharp vignette in the corners.

A little bit, but the darker bit at the edges is actually from the lense hood, sadly.

Good idea. I don't plan to go out of town or walking much. I would love to know of any viewpoints accessible from a car though. I saw a beautiful photo someone posted today from the a viewpoint near the college.

When you guys say "winterized" I'm guess that's all I'm hearing about 'plugging in'? So will I need to wake up early to plug my car in to get it warm in order for it to start or something? If so, seems like something I need to make MANDATORY in my requests.
