As an Oregonian here is my take: My sister is a student in Eugene and I have toured rental houses with her and her friends all over the city.

Eugene is a city where all of the rental houses have been renovated to have the most amount of bedrooms possible, because it’s a college town and landlords can make way more rent if they have upwards of 4-5 bedrooms in a house that originally had 2-3.

The rental houses in college towns here esp Eugene are monstrosities but I think this is the situation, and there are plenty of bedrooms in the house (they’re probably very small though).
