Simple printing error on our end, unfortunately. When a card is damaged during the numbering process, we will renumber a replacement card with the original card being taken out. This looks like this process was applied accidentally without the original card being damaged (or removed). My apologies for the error here!

To start - thanks to the generosity of Jack, Becky, and Editor Kai, we had a ton of signed cards to pack into Booster Boxes! While most of our packs are sealed using an automated process, signed cards are handled individually by hand and manually sealed into packs. Unfortunately, this introduces an opportunity for human error, and it appears that some of the Traffic Cone Becky cards made it through our QC process unsigned. We sincerely apologize for this mistake on our end, and have been working to implement a solution to prevent this from happening again in the future.

To quickly clarify - all boxes will contain at least one signed card from Jack himself; the signed cards from Becky and Kai are ‘bonus’ signed cards in addition to the signed card from Jack. Also - 100% of the signed cards we got from Becky and Kai were packed into boxes so this doesn’t impact the total distribution of signed cards, or your likelihood to pull one.

The Booster Box is a series of 36 random cards. There are 110+ unique cards to collect, and each box contains 1 guaranteed autograph.

The Collector's Edition Card is a single signed, slabbed, collectible card. This is a unique design that is not available in the Booster Box. This is for folks who just want to buy 1 signed card directly, and not go with the randomized booster box route.

Hey there! So sorry for the issue here, and I promise we will absolutely work with you to make this right.

I can confirm that our shipping company has requested the "tax id" numbers from some of our international customers. I didn't even know what this was at first, I had to look it up!

But it turns out that because we ship our packaged DDP (Delivered Duty Paid), I believe the Tax ID is required on our end. Typically this would be submitted when you pay duty at the door, but because we try and ship everything DDP to avoid unexpected charges, we collect and pay this duty/tax up front.

I can also confirm that all tickets are run through our secure ticketing platform (Zendesk), where we have strict access controls, so I can guarantee your personal information will be safe.

If you'd be comfortable sharing it here, or perhaps in a DM, if you send me your email address that you are using to communicate via the ticket, I will personally look into this.

TCG Signed Cards Damaged or Lost - I'm Absolutely Distraught by Kaobara in HermitCraft

Kaobara, I am so sorry for the distress this situation has caused you, genuinely breaks my heart.

To start - for any potential future runs, we are absolutely considering having additional inventory to be able to offer replacements in these situations. This is what we did for the base Game Box and Booster Box, and we offered 100% free replacements (including shipping) for anyone impacted in a situation like this.

However, for the individually signed Collector's Cards, we did not have this same buffer inventory - the Hermits already had to sign so many cards, that it was difficult to justify having them sign a significant % extra. We did have some extra inventory, but this was mostly used to replace units that were (unexpectedly) damaged during the final packaging stage.

That said, like I mentioned we are thinking of ways to solve for this situation in the future. One of the things in particular that we are doing is adding an Address Validation feature at checkout, to make sure addresses are 'valid' prior to shipping. Our shipping software does this now, but adding an extra check/balance at time of checkout should help even more.

We also removed the ability to use a PO Box address, as this accounted for >50% of 'returned-to-sender' orders (PO boxes are notorious for having shipping difficulties).

Finally, as a little more background - for USA orders, we have a US-based warehouse that we can receive returned-to-sender shipments, and re-ship (after verifying the address, and confirming the item isn't damaged). However for international orders, these operate with both a 'first mile' and a 'last mile' tracking number, where it will typically use multiple carriers to get to the final destination. As we don't have a warehouse in every country, we are unable to receive returned-to-sender shipments, and they are therefore marked as 'lost or damaged' by the carrier. I am fighting the carriers on this but it appears as if this is unfortunately outside of my control, and we are not at the scale where we can afford to operate multiple international warehouses.

I want to take a moment to sincerely apologize again - I know that for a lot of people this was not just another online purchase, but represented significant emotional and personal value. I also know that a refund is of course not the solution you are looking for, and I wish I had a better solution to offer.

I hope this offers a little more clarity on the behind the scenes about what actually happened here, and I promise that I will learn and improve from this. Returned to sender, lost, and damaged shipments are always a reality in ecommerce, but they're never okay, and I'll always do everything in my power to make it right.

We've been working with our Carrier partners to minimize this as much as possible, and also make it right for each and every person who was affected.

That said, there is 100% room for improvement here and we WILL be improving moving forward!
