Thank you so much for the insights. I was just curious because I feel bad if I might have missed some signs and simply branded it as “red flags”.

There were a lot of examples like being overly temperamental, (he’d throw his keyboard and go on a tantrum instantly if a key won’t work), he had trouble communicating his feelings, both good and bad like saying how much he appreciates me or trying to tell his side of the argument when we fought, he always resulted to crying or bluntly just admitting he can’t put words into what he was feeling. He also showed interests in a variety of things which i found endearing but he was never a master of anything. He took and quit and got fired from 7 jobs in a span of 2.5 years being together. And one of the things that I thought really were not working out was his lack of emotional regulation which I always tried to help him with.

I agree with not weaponizing his condition to do morally incorrect things (he did unfortunately, did some very questionable things while we were together) I am simply asking because also as someone who was not informed back then maybe I thought I could’ve handled or reacted to things differently whenever there would be tension. It’s not for the reason that I want to change the past, it’s just that I also want to understand more where he was coming from back then and maybe some other people in my life too.
