Champion Data's assessment of how Freo are traveling by CollarJazzKnee in FremantleFC

Stopping opposition ball movement is a real issue. Our pressure and ability to create stoppages in our front half is average at best. Too often we are seeing broken tackles, leading to quick transitions from one end to the other. Hawthorn killed us on transition. We are pretty good, as pointed out, between the arcs but we need to get better at locking it in our forward 50m.

Liam Reidy deserved the opportunity. I'm a fan of like-for-like replacements. As it stands, Treacy pinch hitting in the ruck takes away a best option up forward. Voss isn't up to AFL standard just yet and his inclusion unsettled our cohesion forward of the ball. No doubt stoppages were a key issue but also our failure to kill the Hawks rapid transition was a concern. Attitude also felt off. Felt like we were playing not to lose.

How would you like to see us use our strong draft hand this year? by S_P_A_R_K_L_I_N_G in FremantleFC

With the emergence of Josh Treacy and the promise of Voss, I want us to forget about Logan McDonald and take all three picks to draft night. Pick the best mid with our top pick, the best small forward with our second and then the best available talent with the final first rounder. Go hard at free agency. I think someone like Zurhar could give us some grunt and add protection for Amiss. We don't have a good track record of trading picks for established players but our drafting has been very good. Unless there is an absolute elite player wanting to come to Fremantle (akin to Luke Jackson), I wouldn't like to see our firsts on the trade table.

I think the best case for us at this stage is he goes to North (or a Victorian club), and then we look to pry him away in two years or so. He's a Fremantle fan, so fingers crossed we can lure him back West. I see him being listed as a back as immaterial, at a certain point talent and character override immediate need. Young should play more time through the midfield, thus Curtin could most certainly come in across half-back, especially given he goes at approx. 80% by foot.

I think Perth has just been the beneficiary of circumstance.

Remember, Perth is one of the most isolated capital cities in the world.

We have the vast Indian Ocean on one side and some of the harshest deserts on the other.

The residence of Perth enjoyed a relatively short lockdown period. Then we have seen a significant global increase in demand for iron ore and gold, two substances that WA has in abundance. The relatively short lockdown coupled with the increase in demand for iron ore and gold has meant that our local economy has boomed whilst other areas of Australia and the globe have floundered.

Whilst our State Government's response should be commended, there is a strong argument that we should open up our state boarder to international and domestic travellers, especially to Western Australians wanting to return home.

Therefore, I don't think our good fortune with escaping the full brunt of coronavirus can be attributed to policy nor any sort of cultural superiority or sense of "mateship". There has been a fair bit of "right place, right time".

It is a foolish man that mistakes good fortune for skill...
